About the neighborhood
Located in the Five Avenues, the Palace was built from 1862 by the city to celebrate the arrival of the waters of the Durance in the city, via the Canal de Marseille. The Palace of the works were directed by architect Henri-Jacques Espérandieu and completed in 1869 for budgetary reasons. In its circular colonnade, the palace houses two museums: the Museum of Fine Arts in his left wing and the Natural History Museum in its right wing. The gardens of the Palace also hosted until 1987 a zoo. They currently house the Observatory of Marseille.
Getting around
From Gare Saint Charles take the Metro Line 1 towards the Rose and get off at the station Five Avenues - Longchamp. At the exit take a right and get off at the roundabout. Turn right onto Boulevard Philippon and cross to join the second right. The apartment is on the corner of the Consolat Street and Boulevard Philippon. Parking is available in the surrounding streets. By public transport you can reach the beaches in about 15 minutes. The shops and restaurants are within 200 meters of the apartment. The ideal location in the heart of Marseille.
