Condo/Apartment
Our bright newly renovated apartment is on the second floor of an historic palace or nobleman's grand house. Its high windows with carved lintels look out on to two of the most desirable streets in Nice old town. To one side is the beautiful baroque church of St Rita, with its pretty tiled belfry; opposite is a friendly, quirky, very Nicoise pavement cafe where you can sit and watch the world go by. There are great restaurants on your doorstep or you can buy fresh market produce, stroll to the 'caves' for excellent, reasonably priced wines - then cook in our large, well stocked kitchen with its hand painted Italian tiles. The bedroom has original tomette tiles and two double beds: one has a beautiful antique carved headboard and the other occupies the mezzanine level. Open the shutters and let the sun shine in on both sides of our lovely Nicoise apartment. When you step out of the building's ancient doorway (type 'les portes medievales rue benoit bunico' into your browser if you are interested) you are instantly in the city's historic heart, very much alive with the everyday comings and goings of its inhabitants, cafe culture, open air restaurants and artistic high spots. If you want to feel at the centre of things, lean out of the window and see the life of the old quarter at first hand, this is the place for you. More

About the neighborhood
A few minutes walk from the apartment brings you to the famous Cours Saleya with its fruit and flower market, where the wide sweep of the Baie des Anges is visible through the arches of the old town walls. You are surrounded by bustling restaurants, pavement cafes, museums, art galleries, theatres, jazz bars, magnificent baroque churches and winding lanes lined with little shops selling delicious Nicoise specialities and artisan wares. Next to the old town, the beach is free and the sea just as blue but further along the Promenade des Anglais are the grand hotel beaches where you can sunbathe in style with waiter service. Trams and buses are closeby, and for 1 Euro you can travel to medieval hilltop villages (villages perches), such as St Paul de Vence and Eze, or visit Antibes, Cannes, Mo...
How to get there
Transport links are excellent in Nice and surrounding areas. The airport bus (no. 98) takes you via the Promenade des Anglais directly to the old town. It takes about 20 minutes and costs 6 euro (you can even use the ticket on all bus routes for the rest of the day!). From the main railway station, the tram takes less than 5 minutes. There are two stops for the old town: Vieille Ville - Opera or Vieille Ville - Cathedrale. Our agent lives in the old town and will meet you and show you round the apartment. She is on hand should you need further information or assistance.
