Wonderful!
We have just returned from a wonderful week in Aix. The cottage was perfect for our family of three (including our 6 year old son). The weather was stunning and the swimming pool was a welcome refresher. Rachel and Jean were brilliant hosts - nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

A wonderful home base in Provence
I booked the rooms at Rachel and Jean's home based on the reviews, and they were all spot on. A word of advice: if you try using GPS to find the home, it will likely send you to only the bottom of the street. You have to go up the dirt road about 300 meters.
Rachel and Jean go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. All you have to do is ask, and they are right on it, from advice on where to eat or what to see to making sure you have everything you need. They also allow you your space. Even the friendly dog, Molly, will stop at the front of the open door (with a mild reminder to not come in). After a long, hot day of hiking at Lac Bimont, the pool was wonderfully refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised it was big enough to do some laps.
We usually had a large lunch wherever we were out for the day, then relaxed in the evening in the shade at the outside table with some rosé, bread, ham, and cheese we bought at the supermarket. The grounds are very pleasant to just hang out. In the rooms, which are basically a private corner quarter of the house, there is a small kitchen/table/sofa arrangement on the ground floor and the two bedrooms and bathroom are up the stairs. The kitchen is well appointed, and the two bedrooms are a good size and quite comfortable. We were there in hot weather, so had to leave the windows open at night when it was cool. The rooms stay fairly cool if you shut the front door in the day. Jean brought over a couple welcome fans our last evening.
I could have not been happier with our stay in Provence. We had a wonderful home base to return to every day, or to just hang out at if we were tired. Many thanks go to Rachel and Jean for their hospitality.

A real home away from home
My husband and I stayed at the cottage in September (11 nights) and it was amazing!
It was exactly what we pictured and more. Rachel and Jean were very friendly, anticipating
our needs and very helpful getting us settled in.
This is also a good location in that it is close to the bus stop. Leave your car at the
parking lot and hop on the bus to town.
Thank you Rachel and Jean and we hope to be back soon!

Clean, comfortable, lovely hosts and perfect location!
This lovely cottage is attached to the owners house in fabulous grounds which provide secure parking. It is very well equipped with kitchen equipment, toiletries, towels etc and very homely. The owners, Rachel, Jean and their family are very welcoming and genuinely keen to ensure you have a fab time but not in an imposing way. They gave us tips of where to visit and some guide books. A big plus for us was being able to walk into Aix which took about 15 minutes. Aix is a lovely place but you are also near to some great places to visit. We went to the Luberon region one day and Cassis another day for lunch overlooking the harbour via the Routes des Cretes from Ciotat - a very picturesque cliff side bendy road which was great on a motorbike. We cooked some meals at the cottage (excellent hob!), so the dishwasher came in handy! We also made use of the owners lovely outdoor pool and sat in the sun in the grounds. The whole process of booking and paying was very simple (direct with the owner) and we would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

Fabulous get away
This beautiful gite was perfectly situated for us as we enjoy both countryside and a bit of urban life. Aix is only a couple of minutes away and is enchanting. Our gite had everything we needed, the beds were really comfortable and the rooms were cool.

Beautifully situated cottage in wonderful grounds!
We would highly recommend this lovely little cottage situated in beautiful grounds with a fabulous pool. Jean, Rachel and family were so welcoming to us and to our son who is currently studying at university in Aix. Molly the dog popped round occasionally to visit us. She's beautifully mannered and very polite.
Everything was lovely and peaceful, yet it's only a 5 minute drive/ 25 minute walk into Aix.

Wonderful
We used Rachel's guest cottage as home base for 2 weeks while we explored the Provence area. The location was perfect! Great for day trips and a wonderful pool and grounds to come home to after sight seeing for the day.
We walked into town on several occasions. It is downhill into town, about 40 minutes. Just remember you have to walk back up the hill. If you do not have parcels to carry, it is a great walk. If you plan to shop at the market, I would recommend taking the car and parking at one of the underground lots, or taking the bus which goes from the end of the driveway.
Rachel, Jean, and their lovely family were very gracious to us. They shared their knowledge of the area, and gave us great tips about what to see and where to park. Molly, the family dog, would come over to visit and keep us company. She is gentle and well behaved.
I would go back and stay in a heartbeat!
The unit is spotless. Furnished with all you need to have a comfortable stay. We ate our breakfast and light dinners in the unit, and had our main meal of the day out at various restaurants. We found this arrangement to work out well for us. There were three adults, and we ate mostly outside at the picnic table. Lucky for us the weather co-operated.
Thanks Rachel and family for allowing us to stay with you at your lovely home!

Central to everything and very relaxing
This was a little hard to find however once 'inside the gates' we were met by Rachel and Jean and Molly the gorgeous big dog, and made to feel more than welcome with the offer of anything we needed to make us comfortable after our days travel. We stayed 5 nights here and found it very central to where-ever we needed to go to explore the Provence area. Rachel suggested some fabulous places to visit, provided us with maps, and helped suggest where the best parking was to explore the city of Aix. A lovely spot to sit outside in the sun with a glass of wine under the olive trees. Thank you Rachel and Jean!

Best of both worlds
This is a charming stone gite, attached to but facing away from the owners' property. It looks out on to some land with mature trees and although you are close to a road, it doesnt feel like it. You think you are in a rural setting but you are also within walking distance of Aix, a pleasant 25 min stroll in but a slightly harder uphill walk back! (The local buses seem to stop at 7.30pm so for longer stays either rent a car or use taxis from town, unless you are happy to keep walking) Upstairs is as comfortable as your own home. Downstairs (kitchen and sitting area) is a little cramped but fine if you only want to cook simple meals and sit outside. Rachel and Jean are very hospitable and will what they can to make your stay. Even their son got involved, giving us an impromptu lift into town one day. It was too cold for the pool but it looked lovely. The well-mannered dogs, especially Dylan, will join you for meals, which just adds to the enjoyment!
