Townhouse
The house is our family holiday home and is situated in 'Parc des Impressionnistes', a small landscaped and gated development completed in 2006, which blends perfectly with the surrounding buildings of Honfleur and has the added advantage of a secure parking space. The lounge and both bedrooms have stunning views of the Seine estuary with the iconic Pont de Normandie in the distance. Immediately below is the historic lighthouse 'Le Phare de l' Hospice' which was painted by many of the Impressionists including Monet, Seurat & Boudin. We are within easy walking distance of all that Honfleur has to offer, just 5 minutes from the old harbour or 'Vieux Bassin', down the cobbled 'Rue de L'Homme de Bois'. Despite its proximity to the town it is beautifully quiet and enjoys its own small front...The house is our family holiday home and is situated in 'Parc des Impressionnistes', a small landscaped and gated development completed in 2006, which blends perfectly with the surrounding buildings of Honfleur and has the added advantage of a secure parking space. Central Location, comfortable with added bonus of secure parking
Lovely week in Honfleur. Views from property of Seine estuary and Pont de Normandie always enjoyable. Secure parking a real bonus as the town is so very popular. Instructions for check in and out from host very clear and helpful. Enjoyed Naturospace, the market and various other local attractions - easy access to motorway to go to see Bayeux Tapestry and the new British Normandy Memorial at Gold Beach - very impressive and moving. House very close to all the action in Honfleur itself but is also calm and quiet.

Nice house in Honfleur
Excellent property with good location, a short walk from town and secure off street parking. Nice view across the estuary to the port of Le Havre and the Pont de Normandie. Well maintained, with lots of home comforts.

Wonderful Home from Home
Stayed here for a week and was very impressed by every aspect of the booking process with Sally & Harry and for the superb attention to detail in the house with absolutely everything you need. The house is so convenient for walking into the centre of Honfleur and also for taking a walk down to the beach through the well maintained Park. The parking space is a great bonus and I can imagine that the garden in the Summer is a real sun trap. We have stayed in Honfleur a few times and this is by far the best accommodation we have had and would certainly want to return in the future. Thank you so much Sally & Harry for sharing your house. We loved the apartment, the wonderful views, Honfleur and would come again
The duplex in Honfleur is wonderful, with lovely views of the harbour from bedrooms and living room. It is very spacious, light, charmingly decorated, well equipped in every way and a joy to come home to each day. We ate inside on the large round dining room which has wonderful views of the sea and an old historic tower. We phoned Sally and Harry for information before we left home and they were most helpful and told us we could contact them anytime There were loads of books to read, DVD’s, games as well as many TV programmes although we personally played cards after dinner. There were lots of restaurant cards and brochures for places of interest, very clear instructions for all the equipment, appliances and supermarket addresses. However, we would like to suggest that they add the address of the closest boulangerie/bakery, the key pad number to open the double gates, and also the names of a couple of local favourite places to visit as we did not want to drive too far afield and the marjority of the ‘most beautiful villages/towns’ sponsored by the internet were well over an hour away by car. Thank you Sally and Harry for sharing your beautiful home with us and we would all be very happy to come back and stay here again and revisit lovely Honfleur which was, for us, number one of all the places we visited.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to leave us such a wonderful review and for your constructive suggestions, we're so pleased that you enjoyed staying in the house. Just to respond to some of your points, we do send you the security code for the gates with the house details but we will put them in the house as well where they are easy to see. We will draft a list of boulangeries as we do with supermarkets as they are such a fundamental part of French life. For restaurants we always suggest reading our visitors books, our guests visit a much wider range than we we will ever do and leave helpful reviews. We do indeed benefit from wonderful views but to avoid any potential confusion I should say that these are over the Seine estuary rather than the harbour. The old harbour or Vieux Bassin is very special of course so I wouldn’t want any one to think that we look out on to that, though it is only a few minutes walk away.

Lovely property
Well been here 4 days so far and have to say the property is perfect. Great location, only 5 minute walk into town with the added bonus of free on-site parking. Stayed in Honfleur a few times now and still doesn’t disappoint.

Highly recommended
Had an excellent stay here. The house is very well equipped and perfectly located. We hope to stay again. Less than five minute stroll to the harbour but in an extremely quiet location. Very importantly it has secure gated parking. Street parking is very difficult in Honfluer particularly in summer. Honfluer is without doubt one of the most interesting towns in Northern France and is almost unique in that it was not flattened by allied bombing in WW2 pre D Day unlike most of Normandy. So what you see is the real thing.

A little gem in Honfleur
Hi Sally Thank you so much for a very pleasant stay in your holiday house in Honfleur. We thoroughly enjoyed Honfleur and would definitely recommend to friends and family. The location of the house is perfect for the local restaurants and lovely harbour and all that Honfleur has to offer. The house is in a quiet area with the benefit of secure parking which is a definite bonus as parking in Honfleur can be tricky. We dined in on 2 evenings, eating delicious local produce. The kitchen is well equipped and open plan living space very comfortable. The views from the house towards the Seine and Pont de Normandie are delightful. Our only quibble was no mirror in the second bedroom. We would love to return some time in the future, great accommodation.

Hi Beverley, Thank you for your review, we would love you to return. Thanks for the comment about the mirror, it's a good point, there is one on the landing but we will need to get one for the second bedroom as you suggest. Kind regards, Sally

Second visit as fabulous as the first
This was our second visit to Sally and Harry's house in Honfleur and it was just as we remembered. The house was clean and comfortable when we arrived and the bed was made up, which was very welcome after a long journey. The location is ideal for leaving your car in the secure parking space and walking into town to take advantage of the many restaurants and bars around the beautiful harbour. Normandy beaches are within easy reach by car, as is the Bayeau Tapestry. Sally and Harry were very easy to communicate with and sent us plenty of information which was very helpful. We can't recommend this property highly enough and would not hesitate to go for a third time!

About the neighborhood
Honfleur is said to be the jewel of the Normandy coast. Impossibly tall, narrow 15th. Century houses line the edge of the much-photographed sheltered harbour or 'Vieux-Bessin'. Cobbled streets fan out in all directions with fascinating shops, galleries and enticing restaurants. A bustling weekly Saturday market offers a wonderful variety of food and fresh produce as well as clothes, books and jewellery etc. and on the Wednesday there is an organic market around St. Catherine's church. This is also the location for the antiques market on the first Sunday of each month throughout the season. Honfleur is still an active fishing port and fishermen sell their catch from the quayside. Honfleur has its own sandy beach (Plage du Butin), about 1km. away from the town. You can drive but there is a lovely walk along the side of the estuary past the beautiful gardens and the 'Parc des Personalities'. The fascinating Butterfly Farm lies below the house, close to the tennis courts and covered swimming-pool. The town was adopted by the Impressionists in the late 19th Century and its artistic heritage is everywhere to be seen. You can browse the many interesting commercial galleries and try not to miss the Musee Eugene Boudin just two minutes walk from the house with its large and varied collection of Impressionist paintings. The town is very much alive all year round with its many events and festivals and as with all French towns, you can get abundant information from the excellent local Tourist Office.
Getting around
Of course you have the secure parking space for your car on the development but the house is only a short walk from the town centre down the cobbled street. Close to the town centre the bus station has routes in all directions and we enjoy taking the bus to Le Havre, Deauville and Trouville or Pont Audemer when we don't feel like driving.
