Enjoyed staying in the country in this peaceful little town. A bit difficult to find ( don't arrive after dark if you aren't familiar with the area!)
The gite was clean and perfectly adequate for two people, but as Americans, we were surprised that we were expected to have brought our own sheets and towels. We had to rent them from the owner, who was surprised that Americans don't travel with such things. She said that everyone in Europe does.
We were also told there would be a cleaning fee if we didn't clean the place ourselves, and a service charge for heat and electricity was also mentioned, although we didn't end up being asked to pay this.
This seemed excessive, considering the price we paid to rent. Little things commonly provided by other rentals we have stayed in, such as soap and coffee filters also had to be purchased by us.
As Americans, used to big, comfortable beds, the double bed was a little small for us, and the mattress was not the most...
