This was a fantastic apartment with an extensive outdoor area. It has a bohemian feel to it, especially the kitchen (which as other reviewers state, is full of useful items...e.g. coffee filters, coffee, cereals, salt, washing up liquid etc). The apartment is a large space, especially for two. Also great if you have children due to the bunk beds being within earshot/sight of the double bed. There are nice apartments in Carcassonne, but this is one of the best due to outdoor space and location (in-between old cite and town). Only downside are the mozzies (common in this town - take repellent and you'll be fine) and the traffic noise when in bed (though I live somewhere you can't hear any traffic so it may just be me - if you live in a city centre it's probably pretty quiet, so it's all relative). Caroline the host speaks great English, was very welcoming and helpful and as other reviewers state, is very generous with giving guests wine!! Although the family live at the back and walk through the garden to get there, it was far enough away not to feel intrusive and we didn't see them often. There is an apartment above but Caroline explained it was usually only let at weekends, and certainly we heard no noise from above. We visit Carcassonne every year and will certainly be looking to book this apartment when we return. Thoroughly recommend!
