Overview
Condo/Apartment -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Bordeaux, Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine
2 bedroom self-catering with own terrace, elevator and free Wifi

My apartment is at the top of an 18th century building in the heart of World Heritage listed Bordeaux. There is a spectacular view from the terrace, overlooking the ancient city gate, the Porte de Bourgogne. Beyond is the Garonne river and the Pont de Pierre - the bridge over which Napoleon took his troops to Paris. You can sit with a drink feeling like you are in the front row of a theatre.

The apartment has a mix of modern and antique furnishings and is colorful, warm and inviting.

Accommodation is for up to 4 people, with 2 bedrooms (each with 2 single beds that can be made into a double). There is a fully equipped kitchen and a contemporary bathroom, plus a separate toilet.

Wi-fi, Cable TV and free international phone calls.

As well as the beautiful spiral staircase...

Good location; and allegedly the only place to let in the city centre that has a roof terrace. That puts the price up a bit, but it is still fair for the location. Good interaction with management; and clear joining instructions (had we read them...More

Thanks to this guest for his feedback. I am glad he liked the location of Bordeaux Terrace and the terrace. Yes, there were a couple of issues during his stay. I did warn him in advance about the scaffolding - which has now been removed...More

Stayed here for a few days with my wife and two friends this week. Admittedly we stayed during summer, but the place was a sweat box. No air conditioning and the bedroom fans barely moved any air at all. The apartment was advertised as two...More

About the neighborhood
The apartment building is one street back from the river, in the historic St Michel district. The largest antique market is held every Sunday just metres from the front door, and every Saturday there is an excellent food market. For daily needs, there is Capucins, about a 10 minute walk away, which offers everything from oysters to fresh pasta, sushi and fruit and vegetables in season.
Locals like to enjoy a glass of white wine and a plate of oysters from the Bay of Arcachon.
