Tynings Barn is spacious, and well maintained and equipped, with extensive accessible grounds. It is in a quiet location, yet only a short distance from the A40 main road. Exploration of the Forest of Dean, the Cotswolds and the Malverns is easily undertaken from this base, while Gloucester and Cheltenham are only short drives away. Before yielding to the urge to cover as much ground as possible, it is worth visiting nearby attractions; for example, Highnam Woods [a short distance to the east, accessed from the A40] and May Hill [to the west], together with its woods stretching towards Newent, are well worth attention, whether for dog-walking or for varied bird-life and, in late spring and summer, their butterflies, while, to the north are more woods, in the Kempley/Dymock area, with their magnificent springtime displays of wild daffodils. There are many attractive villages, with churches and pubs both worthy of inspection, and several vineyards, not to mention Westons Cider in Much Marcle. Whatever you choose to do, there is no shortage of variety.
