About the neighborhood
Dairy Cottage is in a lovely rural location, set in a pretty 'olde worlde' listed farm. There are transport links to get you to the beach, the woods or into town. There is a walk across the field that takes you to the village hall and onto the footpath along the road to the Village of Roughton (about 15 mins), and local pub selling real ale, pub food and restaurant. there is also a 24 hr garage with an extensive 'mini mart' and off licence, plus an award winning Fish and Chip shop & Restaurant, there is also the Village medieval Saxon round tower Church. There are lovely walks all around including Felbrigg Hall and Gardens cared for by the National Trust Felbrigg Hall is a Jacobean Hall with walled gardens, Parkland and Lake & Cafe.
Getting around
There are busses but a car is recommended. For Beaches, Cromer is the nearest with a pier and a lovely old Theatre on the pier, worth a visit. Typical victorian sea-side town, crab fishing boats, Pubs, ice cream, and fish shops. Holkam Gap is just up the coast along with Victorian Sheringham. Overstrand with the steep climb down the cilff has dog friendly beaches. Dog friendly beaches are all along the coast, apart from the Beaches that are in the towns. Bacton is one that we use with the 'Poachers Pocket' a dog friendly Pub with Pub Food right on the beach
