We've lived in the area for over 20 years, so we can recommend the best places for whatever you are looking for - coffee, lunch, brunch, dinners, quiet beaches, good playparks for kids, rainy weather activities.
Small dogs are 60gbp per stay, medium/large dogs 80gbp, payable on arrival.
Heating will be charged extra for stays longer than 2 weeks. Meter readings will be taken at the start and the end of your stay.

Flat is close to everything no need to drive unless your going further along the coast. It was lovely and clean and nothing was to much bother for the host. We will hopefully be back soon

Very good place to stay in Ayr
I recently stayed 2 months at an apartment on North Harbour Street in Ayr. The apt met my needs very well. It’s only a 10 minute walk to the City Centre and about 15 minutes to the rail and bus stations. There’s a grocery right behind the apt and a great little coffee/bakery right across the street. The kitchen is well stocked with everything I needed. The apt was very clean and included everything one needs while on holiday. I especially enjoyed the view from the sitting room windows of swans on the river. I would definitely stay here again.

Good central location
The flat is in a good central location with easy access to the town centre and not far from the beach front, train station or buses. The location although central is very quiet and the river view is great. Parking is right up to the door, and the directions to the flat were good but the one way system was a bit confusing if you don’t have sat nav! Any questions and contact with the owners was very helpful and friendly. The flat is very clean and comfortable. Ayr is a great base to explore all of south Ayrshire from and Culzean Castle and Dumfries House we’re not far and a great day out.

Terrible
Lack of communication with owner & mother regarding booking, phoned on arrival to the surprise of those involved! Upon entering the apartment, apologies were made regarding coldness, the heating was switched on & were asked to turn it down once heated and warned 'there may be a little dust'. This wasn't the apartmen that was advertised! It was filthy, the kitchen cupboard had food items (half jar of jam, old items and greasy jars & containers. Dead flies in the curtains, hairs & spillage in the fridge, pots & microwave speckled with food. Numerous holes in net curtains, bottle top under settee, dead flies in standard uplifted lamp, fleece covering the seat as if protecting it from dirty work clothing, Unhygienic feather, cigarette burned, stained duvets( extra was paid for poor quality bedding which I had to make up myself). I honestly think this flat is being rented by someone else who, for whatever reason wasn't there on the dates I was. I was refused a refund, if I didn't have the 2 small children & I had extra money in my pocket I wouldn't have stayed. I have stayed in hostels to 5* hotels & this accomadation is not up to standard, it's overpriced & haven't heard back from Nicola since I sent the photos she requested of complaints. I think Nicola should inspect every property the day before guests arrive. I am a hard working individual who feels very let down & shocked about the whole experience. I will seek professional advice regarding resolving this matter.

Big and bright
Lovely roomy flat with bright livingroom with views of the river. Plenty of space for a family of 4 and good value for money. Great location 15 mins walk to Newton on Ayr train station, 5 mins from the beach and shops. Big Aldi just across the car park for groceries, and a parking space. Loved our stay here.

Only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ayr town and beach. there is an Aldi 1 minute away and also a lovely Bhaille Cafe and Bakery just opposite that does the most delicious lunches, coffees and home made breads.

You are only a 15 min walk from Ayr train station and a short 5 minute walk to Ayr High Street. The beach is 10 minutes walk.

How to get there
From the north – follow the A77 to the junction with the A70; turn RIGHT into Ayr.
From the south – follow the A74/M74 (direction Glasgow) until Gretna; then the A75 to Dumfries; the A76 to Cumnock and the A70 into Ayr.
Stay on Holmston Road (A70) all the way into Ayr - the River Ayr is on the right.
At a large double roundabout (opposite the station) turn LEFT and then immediately RIGHT.
The road crosses the railway line into Ayr town centre.
At the ESSO PETROL STATION, follow the one way system round to the LEFT; go down the hill, turn RIGHT at the traffic lights.
At the next traffic lights, turn LEFT into MILLER ROAD.
At the next traffic lights, turn RIGHT onto RACECOURSE ROAD.
Go straight on through 1 set of traffic lights and 1 pedestrian crossing.
Enter roundabout and take first exit onto FORT STREET.
Enter next roundabout and take 2nd exit onto HARBOUR STREET.
Turn LEFT over the bridge.
Take first LEFT immediately after the bridge onto NORTH HARBOUR STREET.
Turn first right and immediately 1st RIGHT into the car park:
- the car space for Riverside Cottage is first on the right; the entry door (yale key) is on your right hand side and once in the building the mortice key opens the cottage door on the right
- the car space for Harbourview Apartment is fourth on the right and the entry door (yale key) is directly in front of you; the apartment is first floor on the right
