To the right there is a twin bedroom containing two standard single beds, next door is a bathroom with a bath and sink, in the cupboard here you will find the towels. Opposite the bedroom is the family shower room containing a sink, large walk in shower and toilet. And the last room is another twin room containing two single beds and a hand basin, it also has an occasional bed if required, the bedding for this if you have not requested it is in the blue bedding box at the other side of the room.
Electricity is included in the cost and the wi-fi is also supplied free of charge, we are rural though and cannot guarantee a strong signal if there are a lot of guests using it at the same time.
Pets are also welcome at Fingask, just let us know they are coming. Please ensure you clean up after your pet and keep them off the sofa's and beds.
We have a cot, high chairs and stir gates available if required, please let us know prior to your arrival as depending on what time you arrive there may be no-one in the office. (the office is not able to sign for food deliveries).
The pool is open from Easter until first frost (usually October), any guest caught using the pool cover as a diving aid will be asked to leave immediately. The motor is expensive to repair and we have had two broken in 2019. The games room is up the stairs and turn left, at the end of the building there is a door, they key is under the stone if its not in the lock, please ensure that under 12's are NOT left unsupervised!
There are seven Fingask Castle Cottages, ranging from Sir Stuart's House sleeping up to fourteen, to the romantic hideaway, with sauna and rowing boat, known as The Boathouse.
Fingask Cottages are set in over 100 acres of the historic gardens and woods of Fingask Castle, enjoying southerly views to the Firth of Tay and the hills of Fife beyond. The half mile long drive curves up through the wooded glen and crosses Fingask stream on a high arched stone bridge overlooking St Peter’s Well in the dell below. Fingask is truly a magical place!
You are welcome to roam the estate, there is a map provided in the cottage, but please respect the owners privacy and avoid the area immediately around the castle. The Pavilion is also to be avoided please if there is an event happening during your stay.

Our stay was too short, fantastic quaint cottage in and ideal setting.
The views and walks are fantastic, the staff very obliging. We would love to book again and explore some more!

Poor standards throughout
We stayed at this Air bnb for a 5 night stay for £942.00. So was not a cheap option. We arrived to find the cottage unclean and unkempt. Cobwebs all over the walls and furniture, showing they hadn't been dusted for some. All the glasses and cutlery were greasy and unclean and all needed to be washed before they could be used. The inside of some cupboards were sticky and grimey. To add to this the furniture is well past its best. The sofa is lumpy and sunken, chairs in the kitchen are broken and wobble, crack in the mirror in the bedroom to name a few. All the furniture looks like it should be recycled. We decided to go for a walk on the grounds only to find the grass and weeds have been allowed to overgrow to the point where we had to turn back as the path was just covered in bushes of tall nettles they you could not get past. This was really disappointing. On the second day the hot water stopped working so we could not do the washing up or shower. We waited until the morning as to not call someone out in the night but this was not appreciated unfortunately. The guest book mentioned the hot water issue by previous guests so must be on on-going issue that hasn't been resolved. As requested when we left we stripped all the beds, emptied all the bins and washed and put away all dishes. When stripping the beds we found a used tissue filled with snot underneath the bottom sheet at the head end of the bed which i can only assume means the bed sheets were not changed between visitos. During a covid pandemic i cant even begin to say how shocked and disgusted we were. There was no cloth or hoover provided but the owners were unhappy with how the cottage was left which left us absolutely flabbergasted given the state it was in when we arrived. I think they need to remember they are providing a service to paying customers. I personally think it was cleaner when we left. Maybe the cobwebs were decor that we should not have removed? All in all this was a very disappointing trip and for almost £1000 and to be faced with such a horrible attitude from the owners and staff I would not recommend it to anyone.

Very disappointed to have received this unfounded review. This guest was via another booking platform, they were given a poor review from ourselves given the condition the cottage was left in by them.
This is a disgruntled guest and their comments do not provide a fair review of the condition of the cottage, or the service they received. Nor were their concerns raised during the stay or on departure.
At Fingask we do not present our cottages as being new and unused. Our furnishings are shown on our listings. Our guests come to relax and to be comfortable in their surroundings, that is what we provide. Many come year after year, or several times within the year.
Beech Tree (and other cottages) are clean, and comfortable. Our ethos is to reuse and recycle when we can - therefore a mix of furniture is what guests will find.
Occasionally unforeseen issues crop up - such as hot water - which we rectify as quickly as possible. This review suggests that both the sink water and shower water went off. Somewhat odd given the showers in the house are electric and powered individually, the sink water provided separately and in a different manner. The cottage also has a dishwasher which heats the water itself. This guest was not left no hot water or dishwashing facilities.
Of course beds are changed between visitors - this is an upsetting accusation.
We will not detail other items mentioned. We do acknowledge that occasionally an item may be missed, we are not infallible, our team is human after all.
Our office is 15 feet away from the front door of Beech Tree Cottage. The owners live on site. We are on hand to deal with any issues, missing items or to simply answer queries. We endeavour to provide a friendly and helpful service at all times.
We would suggest anyone reading these reviews also looks at other platforms were there are more reviews, those we would suggest are arguably more balanced.

A poor example of Scottish hospitality!
I booked this fairly last minute as a base for family whilst organizing my mother-in-law's funeral. We travelled over 1100 miles from France in the expectation of finding a warm, welcoming place to call home for 10 days. We were sadly disappointed. We arrived early in the evening to find no means of lighting the said open fire; no kindling, wet logs and one or two fire lighters. It was a freezing cold night and made for a miserable start.
The house is indeed in a charming location, but it is far from comfortably or well furnished/equipped. Neither was it very clean. I have taken a range of photos that show just how shoddy it all is and I could never recommend this property to anyone for the following reasons;
1 The furniture has clearly been sourced from a second hand saleroom and is shabby and uncomfortable. The sofas in the sitting room are particularly bad and are collapsing underneath with no support.
2. The beds are truly past their best and very uncomfortable with springs creating sore spots and preventing sleep.
3. The charm of painted floors only works as an artistic detail if they are kept clean and maintained and they are neither in this house.
4.The shower head in the upstairs shower room is a potential health hazard because it is dirty and rusty. This owner clearly either does not know or care that landlords are regulated in this to ensure that air and water borne infections such as Legionnaires disease are not harboured in fittings.
5.The plumbing in most areas is very poor.
6. There is no hot water in the en suite shower room sink unit.
7. The door on the upstairs shower is so corroded it is difficult to move.
8. There are very few curtains to create privacy in the property. Those that are there are hanging off rails due to lack of fittings and care. Again these are clearly shoddy cheap pick ups from salerooms or auctions that do not fit and are well past their best.
9. The kitchen is very poorly equipped, again with what look to be shoddy, mis matched crockery and utensils that made cooking a very challenging experience and there certainly is not enough to equip and 8 person party unless one is expected to eat in sittings.
The only logs available to us were so wet they would not burn, something anyone should know and inexcusable. We spent a small fortune on kindling and dry logs for our ten day stay.
Finally, the drive up to the property is so badly potholed and rutted that structural damage to the car Is a very real cause for concern as is the young man who runs around dangerously on a quad bike as he seems blithely unaware of the peril he puts others in.
I'm frankly astounded that landlords (especially those who purport to be landed gentry)of holiday properties still try to get away with such practises. And it leaves a very impression is the Scottish self catering holiday accommodation available.
There is either areal arrogance that they appear to think that people should feel grateful for what is supplied or a complete lack of awareness of what is expected in a holiday let, but it's about time some reality is applied I think: I've paid over £800 in low season for 10 days to stay here whilst dealing with a very sad event in our lives. I should have been able to expect so much better for the price. Had we not had the funeral to organize, we would have left and found somewhere else.

Beech Tree Cottage Fingask Castle
Lovely cottage surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very dog friendly and will be recommending this estate to my other dog loving friends. Owner was welcoming and you didn't feel you were imposing on their property. Bonus was the heated swimming pool.

Excellent stay in Perth
We had an amazing trip to Perth and stayed here. Its really nice place to stay and we enjoyed home and its facilities. The fireplace near by - where we spent night time - was an awesome experience. Thank you so much Andrew/ Samantha.

Fantastic
There were 7 of us stayed in beech cottage for a week in August. We had an amazing holiday. Sam was great before our holiday answering any queries. She also recommended the Sunday Market at Errol which we went to and it was fantastic so I would recommend this to everyone.
The cottage had everything we needed and more. It was clean and very homely. My mum is disabled and so the downstairs en suite bedroom was amazing. My kids loved wandering around the grounds looking for hidden things, the well and rope swings and many many more bits.
The pool is lovely but the day we went in there was a huge issue with flies. Hundreds of them swarming round us. Put us off a little bit but it's nature and your in the middle of beautiful forests so things like this are to be expected. The kids also had many a fun night in the games room. It's well equipped.
We honestly had the most chilled laid back holiday we have had in a long time.
We were a short drive away from Dundee and Perth both of which were lovely. We also traveled to Pitlochry and Edinburgh for days out.
The nearest shop is some way away which took us a bit of getting used to. However asda did deliver our big shop and we even got a takeaway delivered.
We also had 3 small dogs between us who were also made to feel very welcome.
Would recommend this place to anyone. It's beautiful and peaceful.... Miss is already

How to find Fingask!
The Post code to Fingask is PH2 7SA **
It has been brought to my attention that Sat Navs do not take you directly to Fingask’s main drive, so with that in mind please follow the written directions once you have left the A90 and are heading towards Rait.
Travelling from Edinburgh follow the signs to the Forth Road Bridge and, after crossing it, continue North on the M90. At junction 10, do not take the exit to Perth but continue on the M90 towards Dundee. (From Glasgow take the M8 East through Glasgow and, at junction 13, join the M80 towards Stirling. At junction 9, take M9 towards Perth; this becomes the A9. Before Perth, take the M90). The M90 becomes the A90. About 10 miles after Perth, take the Inchmichael junction turning left sign posted ‘Rait’ soon after the Shell garage, then take next turn right, (from Dundee take A90 towards Perth and after approx 10 miles take slip road to left and over flyover following signs to Rait as follows) follow signs to Rait until ** small cross road then instead of following sign straight ahead to Rait turn right, then take the first driveway on left (opposite a white house).
We don’t have check in here, so just go straight to your assigned cottage and enjoy your stay! Samantha is in the office located in the Coach House at the top of the drive, Monday to Friday 8.30 am until 4 pm, 5 pm Monday and Friday, if you have and problems.
For Beech Tree Cottage
At top of main drive bear right and then left following sign to ‘Cottages’ through arch into glass cover way.
Redwood is the first house on the left under the glass cover way.
Rowan is 4th door on the left.
Sycamore is the last door on the left before the corner of the building.
BEECH TREE is the far end cottage facing you with a green porch.
