Scottish Tourer are a family based company and are sited within half a mile of the A9 at Perth, this makes it an easy pick up and central to anywhere you may want to go in Scotland.
1.5 miles from their yard going north is a a Tesco and in the opposite direction, about 1 mile a sports outlet with a café, M&S, Costa and other known stores with free parking, so easy to get a snack/ coffee after your journey, stock up or buy those last minute things if you arrive early for your pick up.
This is the second time we have booked with Scottish Tourer and the process was just as pleasant and easy as the first, nothing was too much trouble from the polite and cheerful staff and, the information they supply you with is second to none. When approaching you booking date Scottish tourers send a video to watch so you can get acquainted with the operation of your van prior to your arrival and also a google based map of wild camping areas which are also integrated into their supplied GPS devices. The operational manual for each van is comprehensive and also includes a list of filling stations for gas top up.
Scottish tourers attention to detail is faultless, their staff pleasant, their vans clean and recent, in some cases only a few months old. Would we use Scottish tourers again, most definitely yes.
Oh! and their prices are also very competitive. ..

Excellent 10 days around Scotland.
Picked upIona Motorhome, lovely staff and very friendly, made sure you were well informed and went over everything that was on the videos.
The Iona is small but very well equipped with everything you need, lovely van for two people.

Fantastic!!
Our family has always supported local vendors when we travel. We chose Scottish Tourer because it was a family run business and our interactions with them from the start were incredibly professional and personal.
They went above and beyond giving us local inside information for our trip, and making sure everything was perfect for us. It was a true partnership that has since to become a friendship!
The ability to Wild camp throughout Scotland was fantastic for our family as we could stop wherever we were for the night and move onto the next hike or adventure. It also saved us quite a bit of money 😁
We would not use anyone else this company is astounding. It’s a family run business and they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need.!!
We highly recommend them, and hope to return soon!

Fabulous holiday
We have just returned from a fabulous week in the beautiful West Coast of Scotland. Scottish Tourer were amazing and the Iona Motorhome which was our home for the week was perfect. The route they suggested exceeded our expectations and we have just booked to go back again in July to see more.

Home from motorhome
We hired the Islay automatic for 7 glorious days, perfect size for us as a couple on our very first road trip adventure. Beautiful motorhome with just 5000 miles, superb condition and has everything you need. We did the North Coast 500 having planned the things we wanted to see/visit along the route. Looking for a rental Scottish Tourer has no hidden charges, they are great communicators and available for any questions before or during hire. Everything was perfect would highly recommend.

Great time thanks to Scottish Tourer
Great service from start to finish. The campervan was all we needed to tour the NC500 and we had no issues at all with it. Scotland is a beautiful place and if we are lucky to go again - I would have no reservations using Scottish Tourer again.

Distressing and humiliating experience
I don’t usually write reviews but I have to share my distressing experience about this company. I booked a motorhome for a week for June 3 months ago along with airport transfer from GLA airport and drop off at Edinburgh airport. A few days ago, I realised that GLA would be more optimal in terms of flight out of the UK. I sent an email to the company to try to get it changed and they outright refused it. I expressed my ‘disappointment’ and was surprised at their lack of flexibility so far away from the rental. I was then explained that they are fully booked and they have limited transfer resources which I accepted. At the same time, I was labelled a ‘disgruntled customer’ and was suggested that I go elsewhere. With arrangements already made, I was not in the position to do that so I said I would continue with the booking (contract already signed and deposit paid). 3 days later, another person sends me an email saying that my booking is cancelled due to ‘supply chain shortages’ and the vehicle not arriving on time. Note that I had previously asked for a registration number to book ferries, camp sites, etc which I was provided with. So, there was a specific vehicle assigned to me. When I challenged this person on this, I got vague replies that they would just give out registration number and this could be changed later, no vehicle had been assigned to me. I was also accused of jumping to the wrong conclusion when connecting the dots of my ‘complaint’ and them cancelling my booking. While their reason to cancel my booking is not impossible, given the peculiar timing (3 days between being suggested that I move my booking somewhere else and actually them cancelling my booking), it is improbable. I chose this company based on good reviews but I had a very humiliating experience with them so I cannot recommend them.

Being a company in the hospitality industry and given the last two years the very last thing we want to do is cancel a booking, however due to the global shortage of car components and in particular microchips, the manufacturer of our vehicles has had to delay the delivery date of some of our motorhomes, one of these which was earmarked for this person, this caused mayhem in trying to re organise our bookings not to mention the financial implications to our business, where we could we re organised other customers into alternative vehicles or dates , the few customers that we did have to cancel we first checked with other hire companies availability so no one would miss out on their holiday. this person was emailed the details of four suitable companies all with availability for his dates.
But this person is completely unable to accept the only reason we suggested he cancelled was in his interest not ours, this is an extract from an email sent to him,
“it is with great regret that the vehicle we had scheduled for your booking is unlikely to arrive in time , therefore we feel in fairness to yourself it would be best to cancel your booking now and refund your deposit which will allow you ample time to arrange a vehicle from another supplier”. Cancelling a booking is very detrimental to our business emotionally and financially, so we would have preferred to keep the booking ,but rather than the possibility of cancelling a few weeks or days before their arrival we felt it was fair to let the customer know the situation so they could make alternative arrangements.
He originally booked on our scheduled Airport transfer system which was return to Edinburgh Airport on 1 July , we had no service that day running to Glasgow, again he was unable to accept that we could not accommodate his change of plans to return to Glasgow, we tried explain it was not like a taxi service but a scheduled service with other customers also pre booked to and from Edinburgh so it was impossible to change from Edinburgh to Glasgow airport but he appeared unable to accept this also.

Wonderful Highland intro to motorhoming
Our first use of a motorhome with our young family (3,5 and 8) and pleased to say we've returned home tired but full of great memories.
Scottish Tourer provided excellent communication in advance of collecting the motorhome and were on hand with issues if we needed them. The guidance video and documentations were all really good (as was a youtube video I found when I needed it) and the team friendly. The fleet appears all nearly new and in good condition as Scottish Tourers give plenty of advice in protecting them (and your damage deposit).
After getting to grips with things like the chemical toilet, the heating/water and the bed building (not many people seem to use more than the fixed bed and overhead bed so converting the table is a bit of an art form) we seemed to get into a good rhythm and clocked up about an hour's drive between each site for the week we had the hire (we used fixed sites more than the wild sites largely due to the kids). Scotland itself has loads of caravan sites (worth booking in advance where possible) but Scottish Tourer also provide a useful map with where you can wild camp with relative ease. We didn't really have any issues getting a site during the week (first week before Easter weekend) and were able to park at most of the touristy sites without any real issues.
I think we were lucky with the weather for the week which always helps but I'd be more than happy to return to Perth to pick up a motorhome when we decide to return.

Fab camper rental
Highly recommended. Motorhome hire arranged efficiently and made easy by really helpful staff. Van was in great condition and we had the best time romping round the North of Scotland!

Wonderful company to deal with- Highly recommend
We were a family of four who hired the Lewis for a week to tour around the West Coast. From the initial contact with Dawn, through booking, hiring and returning the motorhome, Dawn and her team were outstanding. We experienced a high level of customer service. As this is a family run and owned business, we received the impression that they all cared about us having a wonderful holiday. The motorhome was of a very high standard, everything we needed. We chose not to wildcamp, and used campsites for each night which suited our needs, however the motorhome is set up to be used for wild camping with all the comforts you may need.
We had an issue with a fixture breaking while we had the motorhome- this was dealt with very professionally. If we return to Scotland in the future, we will have no hesitation in renting from Scottish Tourer again.

Our location in Perth is a few hundred yards from the main A9 route north which leads to the highland. Perth is considered the gateway to the highlands and Islands so we are very conveniently located for travel to all the scenic areas of Scotland.

The motor home we supply is small enough to get into most car parks and supermarkets sop shopping should not be a problem, We also have cycles for hire which can be carried on the rear of the motor home should you need to park away from any amenities.
