Lovely cottage in a quiet setting
We stayed for a week at the Lodge and had a lovely time, despite not being blessed with great weather! It is small but perfectly formed and ideal for a small family break. The house was very comfortable and fully equipped with all mod cons and is in a small, quiet village just outside Elgin. Although it is situated beside a road which is busy at times, the back garden is completely contained and safe for children. It is handy for loads of great places to visit, Elgin Cathedral, Dallas Dhu distillery, Fort George, to name but a few. We had a fabulous time and hope to go back!

Everything you will ever need in a perfectly compact holiday cottage
Stayed for a long weekend with our two sons (then aged 2 and 6 months) to visit family and friends in Elgin. Accommodation was perfect in size for a small family, with plenty of space if the weather is wet. Bed linen and towels were plentiful and high quality. The kitchen was the best equipped I have ever seen in a self-catering property - they have thought of everything! Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to repeat the experience soon.

Terrific!
We stayed at The Lodge for 2 nights with our 2 year old and baby during the hotest March on record and made the most of its proximity to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The house itself is charming and the best thing about it is that it is amazingly well equiped for families with children from the travel cot and high chair down to the baby cutlery and bathroom step. It is also a very short walk from the little Duffus play park to entertain a toddler early in the morning/late in the afternoon! The area is fantastic with plenty to do for all ages and Elgin is a quick drive away for stocking the fridge/bar/bbq/picnic basket. It is great value for money and well worth a visit!

Perfect little getaway.
We have stayed here 3 times now and The Lodge is a proper home from home. Extremely well equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need, lovely little bathroom with a great shower , 2 comfortable bedrooms (with nice bed linen) and all in all a very cosy place to stay. The garden is a great size and if you are blessed with good weather there is a BBQ and garden furniture. Up the road there is a children's play area and a handy village shop. Perfect location for exploring some amazing beaches (Hopeman is great for rockpooling) and if you like history theres plenty of castles, forts and battlegrounds to visit. Can't wait to go again!

Lovely return visit
This is the second time we've stayed here and had a great time again. The house is perfect for a small family. There's a good selection of games and a few jigsaws for the wet days as well as all the usual essentials. Beds very comfy! All in all this is a great wee house and a nice base for exploring the area. Although it was chilly, being February, there was plenty to do. Lossiemouth beach is great for sandcastle building in any temperature. Coopers Park in Elgin is lovely with a good play park, aviary and large pond with ducks, swans and geese to feed.

A warm and friendly welcome
We have only stayed at The Lodge for a short break but this little cottage packs a really warm welcome and I feel sure we will be back sometime soon. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would expect to find at home and the welcome pack of fresh bread, milk and other goodies was a really nice touch. The cottage is ideally suited to exploring the Moray and Aberdeenshire coast with some excellent walks, wildlife and beaches all around. Well worth a visit.

Excellent Central Location for Exploring the Moray Coast
Stayed for a long weekend in March to visit friends in Elgin. Great compact little cottage with everything you need. Fantastic central location for acces to all the local areas; Elgin, Burghead, Lossiemouth etc...so much to see and do yet all within easy reach. Pet friendly which was a real plus and had large enclosed garden away from the main road for our golden lab to run around in. Friendly and welcoming owner's who are there to help whenever you need them.

Many thanks for taking the time to review our property. Unfortunately there is little we can do regarding the size of the bathroom. It is small but perfectly formed with a bath (shower over bath), sink and toilet. I do take cleanliness very seriously and only getting 3 out of 5 for the bathroom is disappointing. I shall contact our guest directly to find out more details and will strive to ensure that all levels of cleanliness are back up to 5 out of 5 as rated in previous reviews.

Super Moray Cottage
We had travelled across from the West Coast of Scotland and Duffus Lodge was a wonderful find. It had for us, everything that we wanted. It was very well appointed in a comfortably traditional way. Comfy bed, comfy living accomadation and the layout kept the spirit of the buildings original raison d'etre. We arrived with our collie dog and his reaction was interesting. He came in to the sitting room and immidiately relaxed as if to say mmmm I like this and was at home for the rest of his stay there. The cottage owners had left a really nice, useful welcome pack of food and goodies which were much appreciated. In addition they were solicitous about our comfort without ever being intrusive. The cottage is very well located for exploring Moray, in particular close, to Duffus castle and within easy travelling distance of beaches, distilleries and all the major towns of Moray, as well as being only about an hours travel to Aviemore and the Cairngorms (if you them with Ben Rinnes much closer).

Fabulous Moray Cottage
The Lodge at Duffus was an excellent base for us to visit our favourite places and friends in Moray. As regular visitors to the area for the last 5 years we found the Lodge to be comfortable and homely with all the mod cons we could ask for.The welcome pack of local goodies was an added touch and saved having to run to the shops when we first arrived. Perfect for a small family and stunning surrounding area.We were lucky to have gorgeous weather and so made use of the many fabulous beaches nearby.

Lovely cottage
Excellent cottage, beautifully kept and spacious, has everything we needed including broadband. We traveled with our 21month old and found the cottage very child-friendly. Love the welcome basket too. Would definitely return if we visit the area again!
