About the neighborhood
Nairn has been a top holiday destination as far back as Victorian times, and the fresh clean air has not changed since then.
Nairn has so much to offer the visitor, with its two beautiful white sandy beaches, two championship golf courses, the River Nairn and Findhorn close by for fishing, quaint shops, the Marina with its Dolphin spotting cruises, and all the wide open spaces every child's holiday memories are made of.
The Links has a playground, brand new splash zone, tea rooms with James' homemade ice-cream, putting green, adventure playground, indoor swimming pool with gym facilities. There are walks and cycle ways along the seafront, up the river and around the town.
Getting around
Getting to Nairn is easy.
If you are coming from afar, Inverness (Dalcross) Airport is just 8 miles from Nairn and you'll often fly over Dolphin View Cottage on the approach.
Driving from 'down south' coming up the A9 to Inverness, turn off onto the A96 and you'll be in Nairn in 20 mins.
Trains also run through Nairn and stop at Nairn's Victorian station where you can take and post a selfie before jumping in a taxi to Dolphin View, or walk the 15 min walk if your suitcase isn't too heavy.
Nairn is well served by buses and trains along the main route from Inverness to Aberdeen.
You won't need a car if you're staying in the town but a car is better for seeing the surrounding areas.
