This is a gorgeous Georgian apartment in the heart of Edinburgh's laid back West End, situated less than 5 minutes walk from Princes' Street. The flat is beautifully decorated and is packed full of Scottish fabrics, original Scottish paintings and drawings, warm colours and heaps of personality. It's a great base from which to explore Edinburgh on foot, and once you're worn out from a great day of shopping or sightseeing there's a fab kitchen in the apartment and a wood burning stove for a cosy night in. For the more energetic just dump the shopping bags, get the 'glad rags' on and walk a few hundred yards to some of the best bars and restaurants that Edinburgh has to offer. After a few nights here you're almost guaranteed to feel Scottish and you certainly won't want to leave!

This is a lovely apartment in a quiet cobbled street in the West End of Edinburgh, five minutes walk away from all the hustle and bustle of Princes Street, the Castle and beyond. We were up for the festival which was understandably quieter than usual, but still busy and great fun. The apartment was well equipped and communication with the owners was good. ( thanks for the welcome pack!) There is a pub directly below which does excellent food and we had virtually no noise from the pub at all other than when we were in it! The apartment is on the top floor up some concrete steps that are a bit worn in places, but once inside it is fine. There is a Sainsbury’s five minutes walk away and a great Italian restaurant again five minutes away on Shandwick Place next to the Fox and Faun.
There is a small book in the property on walks in Edinburgh- we made good use of that and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting, especially the Water of Leith walk which takes you on a tranquil amble up to the Dean Cemetery which is next to the National Museum of Modern Art (free) with the collections of Miro, Picasso, Dali and so on.
We will definitely book again ( if they will have us back!)

Lovely apartment only one negative
Beautiful and stylish apartment and very comfortable. Grateful for the bread, milk etc and flowers. The concrete stairs didn't bother us at all, after all, it's a very old building.
However, there was some noise from the pub below as people left at night and also some delivery noise in the morning. But the apartment is central and so some noise is to be expected...earplugs would solve it.
Otherwise, fantastic place to stay.

Long weekend break
Beautiful apartment although 2 flights of stairs with a couple of worn concrete steps not great. parking difficult as parking suggestions could not be found . this is a great place to stay.
Near nightlife and in walking distance to princes st etc. Pub below but no noise and didn’t interrupt our stay. Only suggestion is to provide better pillows with protectors and more than 2 toilet rolls as these didn’t last long between 6 adults. Shower handle loose and can flood easily

Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert! Die schöne Stadt und die tolle Unterkunft.
Wir kommen wieder!!!

Superb apartment, its decor is lovely and is very well equipped. Everything in walking distance, literally 8 mins walk from haymarket station, and about the same to princes street. Locally there’s supermarkets and delis. The local pubs are fab (below) great cocktails and ales...no noise at night. Would definitely recommend 😊

Home from home
Excellent well appointed apartment in a lovely quaint street. Every amenity required is on your door step. Very easy discovering Edinburgh on foot from the apartment. Lovely homely touches make your stay very relaxing. Will definitely stay again. Andy’s information provided very helpful and he is very efficient at answering any questions you may have.

Another Fantastic Stay
This was our second stay at the William Street Snug. The apartment is in an excellent location, a 5 minute walk from Haymarket train station and a few minutes walk to the end of Princes Street. Two supermarkets are a few minutes away for food essentials and there are pubs and independent shops on William Street itself.
The apartment is beautifully furnished throughout and has all the amenities required for a short stay.
Booking was very easy, and Andy and Rona were quick to respond to our messages and calls.
I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment and would love to stay again!

Fabulous 'home from home' apartment in a perfect position to access Edinburgh
The entire experience was excellent from start to finish with this apartment - from the initial e-mail interactions with Andy (the owner), his helpful information and his accommodating of our travel plans, to the actual stay in this lovely accommodation.
This snug has 3 good size double bedrooms with comfortable beds, a well kitted out kitchen (almost everything you could need in was found in the drawers), a great bathroom, and a cosy lounge. The location was perfect - in a (relatively) quiet side street parallel to one of the shopping streets and a 5 mins walk to Princes Street and spectacular views of the castle. There are at least 2 good local pubs just outside the front door, and a very good restaurant across the road (A Room in the West End).
I would encourage anyone to book this accommodation for a trip to Edinburgh - it is very comfortable for 6 people and great value all things considered. I have never seen a property achieve ALL 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor (48 at the last count!) and, having stayed there, I am very glad to provide yet another 5 star review. A beautiful property (and one we hope to stay in again in the future).
