The Edinburgh sightseeing tour bus stops very conveniently just across the road.
This apartment is ideal for romantic or city breaks, especially for those who are looking for history and culture. It sleeps 2 people very comfortably with a king size bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the sitting room. The peaceful bedroom is located to the rear of the property and looks onto internal gardens. The kitchen has been modernised and has a NEFF hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer.
The apartment is located in an historic A listed builidng (1866), originally commissioned by Queen Victoria (there is a statue of her on the roof!).
On arrival you will be met by the owner who will show you how everything works in the apartment. You will receive a complimentary welcome pack.
There are many restaurants to choose from locally and the famous Castle Terrace restaurant is just next door. Edinburgh's thriving Farmer's Market takes place in the street outside every Saturday morning - here you can buy a wide range of organic Scottish produce. There is also a good supermarket within a two minute walk.

Cosy and central with fantastic view of Hogmanay fireworks
We loved this cosy and comfortable flat right next to the castle and convenient for all the city centre sights. Kitty was really helpful and we knew she was on hand if we needed her. We really enjoyed the Hogmanay celebrations especially watching the torchlight procession on 30th and the fireworks on 31st. The view of the fireworks over the castle from the lounge windows is amazing. There are lots of things to do in Edinburgh. We especially enjoyed visiting Holyrood, Arthur’s Seat and a walk in the Pentland Hills (although the bus service was not good and we had to get a taxi back). We did part of the John Muir Way walking back from Preston Pans too. There are some superb restaurants close by and slightly further afield. Our favourites were Le Bon Vivant, Dine and Wedgwood. Sainsbury’s is really close by too for eating in. Hope to be back one day!

Awesome location & view
The flat is secure, comfortable and very well situated. There were nice touches--fresh flowers, milk in the refrigerator--for our arrival. The owner, Kitty, was at all times, very responsive to Inquires about the City and the operation of the flat's appliances and heating. She provided recommendations to restaurants, directions to attractions and was very understanding and patient with our travel snafus.
The best thing is the location, as it is within walking distance of the Castle, the Royal Mile, excursion pickups, shops, restaurants and pubs and the market and lots of other historic places to visit. A bus stop is not far, either. The view out of the window of Castle is just as it appears in the photos. It is also quiet and the bed is very good.
One caution for folks who may have difficulties with climbing stairs--There are 45 steps leading up to the flat.

The Perfect Place!
Located in an amazing Victorian Building in the Perfect location in Edinburgh - this place did not disappoint!!! The apartment was spotlessly clean, was well furnished, in great repair and had very good amenities. The host, Kitty, could not have been more welcoming...the views of the castle were amazing - on Saturdays you have a fantastic farmers market right on your doorstep - you are 5 minutes walk from the Grassmarket and only about 8 minutes walk from the Castle. The apartment was perfect!

good for two!
Good location, wonderful view of castle.
minor cons for some might be noise from restaurant extractor fan in bedroom but no one else has commented. Whilst we were staying it was clear the heating issue hasn't been resolved with CH being controlled by Kitty's smart phone. She has to guess when its needed, which didn't always fit in with our actual needs .If we rang her she was quick to switch it on. Plenty of hot water which isn't connected to the CH/
Other wise a good place to stay and we would happily star again if in Edinburgh

Excellent stay
Fantastic beautifully furnished apartment.
This apartment is well thought out with good quality furnishings a very comfortable bed. The apartment is plenty big enough for 2.
We really enjoyed our stay of four nights we only wish we could have stayed longer, it is also in a fantastic location with very easy access to the Grassmarket, The Royal Mile, Castle and princess Street including easy access to the rear of princess street gardens.
The real Mary Kings Close is one of many good attractions, best meals were at the forage and chatter and Wagamama on the corner of Castle Terrace.

Wonderful location, wonderful view.
This flat is in a wonderful location in Edinburgh. Opening the curtains each morning to a stunning view of Edinburgh castle was a delight. We visited the castle, Holyroodhouse, the royal yacht Britannia, Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Scottish National Trusts' Georgian House and Gladstone's Land, Greyfriars Bobby statue and kirkyard, Scottish Parliament building, Canongate cemetery, Grassmarket and many more places of interest. The bus stop for a couple of the hop on/off buses is just over the road from the flat so very convenient if you have tickets. There are local supermarkets and shops and cinemas and theatres a five minute walk away. We ate one night at Il Castello which is almost next door to the flats and had a wonderful meal with super service. The flat itself is well equipped and very clean with a very comfortable bed in the quiet bedroom. Kitty, the owner, met us and helped carry my case up to the flat, She gave us information about the location and directions but we soon got our bearings and had a fantastic week in this beautiful city.

A little gem
Castle view is a small apartment in a grade A listed bldg. The flat is on 3rd floor with a wonderful view of the back of The Castle. The location is superb right in the heart of the City within walking distance to shops, restaurants,bars and historic sites. It is small and comfortabe for 2 only but we'll maintained and furnished
