The apartment is located in the centre of Edinburgh's Old Town, on the Royal Mile, close to many major attractions, and 10 minutes walk from Waverley Station and Airport Shuttle terminus. The apartment, which is on the first floor (one flight of stairs), is tastefully furnished and appointed to a very high standard, and has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. It has gas central heating and free Wifi internet access. Bed linen and towels are provided.

The lounge is comfortably furnished, with seating for 4-5 people, including a corner sofa. It is equipped with TV, HiFi & Wifi internet. There is a small balcony off this area. Very nice apartment in a good location for exploring the city. It had everything we needed for our stay and was nicely furnished. Would recommend.

The Browns’ Close apt is located towards the bottom of the Royal Mile, and a perfect base location for touring and visiting Edinburgh, especially during the festival. Although located above a pub, getting up 2 flights of stairs with our suitcases was doable for us...More

About the neighborhood
The apartment is ideally located for exploring Edinburgh. Situated right on the Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament building are both within two minutes walk. Edinburgh castle, at the top of the Royal Mile, is a few minutes walk away, as is St Giles Cathedral. Other attractions within a few hundred metres (or yards) include: Our Dynamic Earth; the Museum of Edinburgh; the Peoples' Story; Canongate Kirk; and the Museum of Childhood.

All of central Edinburgh is within easy walking distance, including the National Museum of Scotland, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Scotland. Most International Festival and Fringe venues are equally accessible – the Pleasance Courtyard and the Fringe Box Office are both within 10 minutes walk.

Getting around
Our apartment is right on the Royal Mile, so most of the sights are within walking distance. If you want to take a bus tour of the city, the hop-on, hop-off bus routes all stop right across the road from the apartment, or if you want to use the city's excellent bus service, you can get a service 35 at the same stop (or, going the other way, the 35 will take you right to the Royal Yacht Britannia).
If you want to explore further afield, the Waverley Railway station is only 10 minutes walk away, or there are Highland coach tours which leave from various locations within walking distance from Brown's Close.

Edinburgh airport is approximately 13 km from the town centre, and is served by a number of major and budget airlines. The apartment is easily accessible from the airport by taxi airport shuttle bus (the central terminus is 5-10 minutes walk from the apartment) or Lothian region bus (the slowest option, but also the cheapest, and it drops you within a few yards of the apartment).

Waverley Railway Station is approximately 500 metres from the apartment, 10 minutes walk; alternatively, there is a taxi rank in the station.
