Beautiful
Gorgeous little cottage, photos online do not do it justice at all. Very impressed. Good location, out of the town, very peaceful, but close enough to travel in the car of you need anything, plenty of local supermarkets etc. Little peace of paradise. Owners really friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend

Our daughters wedding
What a beautiful place. Well appointed cottage in stunning surroundings. The wedding was in a marquee 2 fields away. Perfect! Kerrie, our host was there if we needed anything and made us feel welcome. It felt like we were on holiday. Excellent place to stay in the Scottish borders

Lovely Cottage - Pet Friendly
This is a lovely cottage - off the 'main road' to Hawick but set well back so quiet (and the A7 is hardly busy even in rush hour!). Its well marked off the main road and 5ish minutes into Hawick for shops, yet in the other direction you are off to miles of peace and countryside of etterick valley. Owners live down the track and are very friendly but also consider that you have your own space so just the right mix. Cottage is dog friendly (we had 3), enclosed nice sized garden (fence is about 4 ft max so be warned if dog is a jumper! would be lovely to sit out in the summer, bit cold in November. No dogs in bedrooms which is fair enough. Local dog is very friendly and owners were fine when my hooligans barked at him. Theres a few tracks from the cottage can walk along as well. Cottage clean and well equipped, lots of nice little extras in the cupboard that are useful if your realise forgotten anything. Was nice and warm too considering the time of year. Would def stay again!

Gorgeous cottage, well maintained and clean. Lovely enclosed garden for dogs.
Stayed here for a long weekend in February, literally a minutes drive from the local supermarket, cottage was lovely and warm, shower was excellent, garden was a good size and fully enclosed, and tv and wifi had great reception. Would not hesitate to stay again. Had everything we needed including washing machine and board games for the kids.

An escape from everything.....
Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and teenage son...we wish we could've stayed longer. It was just perfect. George and Lynda were so friendly and welcoming but left us to enjoy our break away but were on hand in case of any problems. The cottage was spotless and had everything that we needed. The wifi was down but we thoroughly enjoyed our time away from it!! It has two bedrooms which are great sizes - all of the beds were so so comfortable. There is plenty of storage space and a utility area for shoes, coats etc. The shower was powerful and the bathroom - again - spotless. The outside areas - well what can I say - beautiful. A safe enclosed garden and walks all around. We saw lots of rabbits but didn't spot the elusive deer! My husband and I have booked again for our wedding anniversary next year and we can't wait to escape from everything again. Thank you George and Lynda.

Welcoming pet friendly cottage
A peaceful pet friendly cottage, ideally located just off the A7. Within easy reach of all Scottish border towns. Owner was most pleasant and friendly and Barney (Dog) well was just Barney. Went up hill on fabulous walk with our two dogs (Mia and Macey) and came back with three(Hello Barney). Loved it!!!!!. Plenty of walks from the cottage long or short whatever you prefer. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As the garden is wrap around you can have breakfast on one patio and afternoon tea and evening drinks on another whilst listening to sheep over the valley. Loved the break from start to finish and would have no hesitation to return - awaiting leave confirmation at work to re-book. Thank you all.

Cosy cottage perfectly situated
We enjoyed so much our stay in Martins Cottage, it is a very comfortable cottage, well equipped. The owners are very kind and helpful. The garden is fenced that is good for the dog. It is close to the city of Hawick as well as the beautiful Wilton Park. It is a perfect location to visit Melrose , Abbotsford House and other beautiful places. I would recommend this cottage to my friends. We would love to come back next year !

A Gem of a find...........
Wonderful views greet you on arrival at this well equipped, clean cottage. The WiFi is a bonus. The host are very welcoming and friendly. The large enclosed garden was perfect for my hounds, I felt confident in letting of the lead as its completely fenced. Great walks straight from the cottage. There is so much to do and visit, I cant wait to go back in August and I'll be booking again for next year as its he perfect position for the two dog shows I attended over the weekend. I would highly recommend to family and friends

About the neighborhood
Hawick is steeped in history. It was continually under threat during the Middles Ages when Scotland and England waged war almost continuously. This is reiving country and Hawick Common Riding, held in June annually, gives you a flavour of the importance of horse riding during those turbulent times. Equally Hawick is the centre of the Scottish Cashmere industry and there's no better place to buy that most luxurious gift. It all started back in the 18th century with the introduction of the first stocking frame to the town heralding the start of the industrial revolution locally. Hawick folk are friendly and quick to help visitors find the most interesting places to visit.
