Ty Mawr Tlws Cottage is one of a pair of luxuriously renovated semi-detached farm cottages dating back many centuries. Set in a small, peaceful and picturesque hamlet with a 13th Century Church, the homely cottage has superb countryside views and is ideally suited to walkers (public paths pass next to the cottage) mountain bikers, groups of friends and families.

Managed by Best of Wales Holiday Cottages.

The owners nearby farmland allows a secluded picnic, BBQ or small bonfire in Autumn / Winter. Children are welcome to help feed the horses and chickens and collect fresh eggs. For children the land around the cottage allows many simple pleasures including country strolls, paddling in shallow streams, meandering through puddles, kite flying (and Red Kite watching!) and watching the farm animals play.

This lovely little cottage was really for 5-6 people, but the owner Mrs. Lloyd kindly let us us) stay at a discounted price, as there were only two of us, and the smaller cottage adjoining the property had already been booked. On arrival Mrs. Lloyd greeted us with a lovely cake and tea/coffee, and also gave us six fresh eggs from her farm hens. We were completely satisfied with the cottage. Everything had been thought of, so we lacked for nothing, and Mrs. Lloyd told us that if there was anything we did need to let her know. The cottage was warm and extremely comfy. It was in a pleasant position, though didn't get much sunshine, but maybe this was because we went in October a bit late in the year. However, there were lots of lovely walks in the vicinity and if shops were needed for food or whatever, there was a big Tesco and also an ASDA close at hand. The only very minor things which could have been better was the rather dim lighting in the lounge which made reading a bit...

Superbly located in tranquil Countryside yet only 15 mins from the M4, and with a shop 3/4 of a mile away and country pubs serving food and further shops including supermarket all with 3 miles. Pontardawe has a variety of food outlets and takeaways, banks, and an Arts Centre. The Cottage is just 9 miles from the Liberty Stadium (Home to the Osperys and Swansea City Football club) making a superb base for travelling supporters and for all stadium music and events. The Wales Rally GB also regularly passes through this area. There are many all weather attraction in the area including the Swimming Centre in Swansea with its 50 meter pool and slides and water rides, Dynamic Rock indoor climbing centre, Mega Bowl and the Waterfront Museum.
