Coachman’s is a self-contained cottage with a beautifully decorated and really spacious bedroom with a zip and link super king bed that can also be divided to make twin beds. The handcrafted tongue-and-groove woodwork, the glowing wooden floor and the soft grey and gentle blue colour palette lend the whole room a feeling of tranquility and romance. The en suite high-spec bathroom with bath and power shower is complete with plenty of large, fluffy towels, soaps, shampoos and hair-dryer. The generous windows make the room very light and the outside door onto a tiny balcony overlooking the valley and the Black Mountains beyond is a lovely feature.

We live very close by so can offer help.
The staff were pleasant, location was good , lovely fresh flowers, though the standard of the accommodation on the whole was poor and disappointing. Unfortunately the cottage was rather shabby, dated and needs updating. It definitely needs a coat of paint!
There are basic utensils in the kitchen, the baking trays though were greasy and the frying pan was not fit for use. The oven needed a good clean.
We noticed that there was an empty beer bottle on the floor in front of the cottage when we arrived and the cleaners woke us at 8am whilst moving wheelie bins across the gravel outside.
There is a wood burning stove in the lounge though no matches or fire glove.
The bedroom is spacious though mattresses are on the soft side and the duvet cover is too small and doesn't fit properly. We were kept awake on the second night by a fan sound coming from the bathroom which wouldn't switch off- very frustrating!
Unfortunately it wasn't the most relaxing break. Coachman's cottage is in need of some serious TLC and the staff need to ensure that everything is ship shape before letting it out. It wasn't value for money, that's for sure.
I decided to write this review as I don't want others to have the bad experience that we had. We went away to relax though came home stressed.

Idyllic getaway
Fabulous cottage for our romantic break away. The cottage has everything you need. We arrived and our home cooked meal we ordered was in the kitchen and the table set. Very welcoming. Quiet and lovely setting . Location great, easy walks with great views in the Brecon Beacons. Very good value for money and will definitely return. Owners were lovely and made booking process very easy. Highly recommend.

Lovely peaceful location - cosy accommodation.
Lovely little bolt-hole in a beautiful and peaceful location. Coachman's Cottage is located in the sweeping grounds of a beautiful Georgian Manor House. It's cosy and comfortable with good facilities and the huge bed is one the the comfiest I have slept in!! Lovely walks direct from the doorstep. Added bonus of being dog friendly - ours settled in straightaway!! Would definitely book again.

Lovely cottage stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in Coachman’s Cottage, which is tastefully furnished throughout. It was so nice to find fresh flowers in the bedroom and lounge.... thank you! The bedroom and bathroom are particularly well furnished, the lounge is comfortable with a nice log burner, and the kitchen has everything you need. We were met by the housekeeper, Liz, who was so friendly and welcoming. The cottage is set in the spacious grounds of a beautiful house, in a very rural setting, about a 15-20 minute drive along some quite narrow lanes to Brecon. A great base for exploring the surrounding area, we would love to stay again.

Mr & Mrs
Accommodation comfortable with beautiful surroundings, within the grounds of a Grade II* Listed Building. Welcoming and friendly people. We very much enjoyed our stay and even enjoyed an excellent meal upon our arrival, after our request. Indeed, we look forward to coming again. However, use of “balcony” not really practical.

Wonderful
We had a great 3 days here. Comfortable and everything you need. The log burner made the cold evening so great. We got to see some beautiful stars on Tuesday evening. Its so peaceful and its a great get-away. We really enjoyed ourselves. Liza is good and very helpful over email. Her son archie is also very helpful. The housekeeper, Liz, is just to sweet for words. She is so helpful and happy to go the extra mile. We will definitaly be back again soon. We loved being out in the farmlands, no street lights, no highways and cars and no sirens and of course, pitch black evenings! They are also pet friendly. Thank you for a great time away!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country
A very nice cottage (the bedroom being the best and most comfortable part of the cottage). The staff were very helpful and friendly. Perfect location for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Brecon Beacons National Park.
One of the few places in the UK designated a dark sky so wonderful stars if the weather is clear.
Tranquil, safe, unpolluted. Lots of things to do and see but also wonderful for walking, eating and relaxing
Getting around
You can walk straight from the cottage into the country or down to Llangorse Lake.
You can bike anywhere you wish.
There is no public transport so otherwise you do really need a car.

How to get there
Honestly a car is a really good thing!
So much to do and visit and also shopping.
If you are a keen biker we have a lockup for you and the lanes are pretty quiet. There is also lots of mountain biking.
You can get to us by train as far as Abergavenny which has links to all the major rail networks. It is 25 minutes from us and there are lots of taxis there.
