Another amazing stay
We’ve stayed here numerous times and are never disappointed! The holiday cottage is really pretty, well equipped & comfy therefore allows a very relaxing stay. It’s location is perfect as it’s just off the canal, near a nice pub, tearoom & shop and very close to the famous Aquaduct (I won’t try to write its name 😂). Steve, Karen & Bryn (dog) are really friendly & relaxed hosts (you are met with some welcome treats for you and your dogs) who provide great advice about things to do in the area. Nothing is too much trouble for them and as our latest visit was very last minute, their flexibility made it so easy. We’ll be back again real soon!

Fabulous
Lovely cottage, perfectly situated for visiting lots of places nearby. The cottage was tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. It is extremely clean and cosy with very comfortable beds. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and I would have no hesitation recommending to anyone. My young granddaughter had a wonderful time playing in the play area and loved the fort.

Lovely cottage
Just returned from a very relaxing few days at this delightful cottage. The setting is beautiful & is a perfect base. A few seconds to the canal & many walks or cycle rides on tap. Had a nice meal at the Telford inn less than ten minutes walk away. Pontycylltte aqueduct very close by, walk across and view the spectacular scenery. Chirk worth a visit and obviously lovely Llangollen not far away with many things to do there. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. Owners very friendly and helpful. A great place to chill and walk locally, leave the car! or lots of sightseeing nearby if you prefer. Will definitely be going back soon!

Excellent
Just returned from a 3 night stay. Due to Covid restrictions we had to rearrange our visit a few time and had absolutely no issues with this. Steve was great. The cottage was ideal with everything we needed. If you book you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely book again.

Lovely cottage in a great location
We have just returned from a wonderful week in north Wales, staying at Woodbank Cottage. It's located a stone's throw from the canal, with plenty of good walks in every direction. Easy walking distance to the aqueduct and a couple of good pubs (friendly staff and tasty food at the Telford Inn). The garden is perfect for kids and dogs: our kids loved the fort and swings, and our pup was very happy to have so much space to roam around in (safely enclosed, of course). We used the kayaks a couple of times up on the canal, which was lovely and peaceful. We didn't find time to use the bikes, unfortunately, but maybe next time. The cottage is very clean and neat, with everything you could possibly need. Comfortable beds, a decent shower, nice well-equipped kitchen, and a nice welcome gift for us (and the dog!). It felt very relaxing and peaceful there, and we'd love to return. Steve and Karen were very welcoming and friendly hosts.

Great holiday home for busy little people!
We enjoyed a brilliant week at Woodbank. The cottage was clean, tidy and well equipped plus the added extras such as the play fort and kayaks really made our holiday. Locally there is just so much to do, whatever the weather. On rainy days we’d recommend hiring a court at Wrexham indoor tennis centre and for an easy teatime the Star fish and chip shop at Chirk is a winner.

Beautiful dog friendly cottage in an fantastic location
Can't recommend it highly enough! This was our second stay at the cottage at Woodbank. It's a beautiful clean, well equipped cottage with all the home comforts in a stunning location. Steve and Karen (and Bryn the Spaniel) are fantastic hosts and we arrived to a bottle of wine and some milk in the fridge along with some Welsh cakes and treats for the doggies. The cottage is extremely dog friendly with lovely and very secure grounds for them to nose about in. Kayaks, bikes and a BBQ are all available for use. Loads of beautiful walks accessible directly from the cottage and lots of water nearby for the dogs to play in. The famous aqueduct is a five min walk with a nice friendly pub on the canal for drinks or something to eat. Other places to visit nearby are Llangollen, a lovely little town to visit for a Welsh tea or a trip on the steam train, and Horseshoe falls with a stop for coffee at the hidden gem -The Chainbridge Hotel . A little further afield (50mins) is Lake Vyrnwy and also Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall which are both well wort a visit. If you want to let your dogs have a good run about (our rescue dogs have very little recall!) there is a fantastic 4 acre private dog exercise field Ryecroft Meadow within a 15min drive that you can book by the hour - its great fun and has hay bales, agility equipment a sand pit etc to play in! Absolutely fantastic stay and we're already planning our next visit!

Thanks Fay. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. Bryn is missing your dogs sitting by the gate waiting for him to come out to play! See you again soon.
