At the heart of the Cotswolds lies the quaint, picture-postcard village of Broadway. Peacefully dwelling at the base of the Worcestershire hills in a region of England that is nationally recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Broadway is a beautiful and historic village ideal for those who love picturesque landscapes, excellent cuisine, and rich cultural heritage. The cottage has a large living room with a log burner ( you will need to purchase logs form local suppliers as we do not supply any i'm afraid) and a large TV with freeview and DVD player. The large kitchen diner has exposed beams and ample seating and also benefits from an adjoining conservatory. The property has a master bedroom with en-suite shower and wc, 2 further double bedrooms and a twin bed room. There is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside there is a large garden with patio and outdoor furniture. Pets are welcome and there are many walks locally. There is ample parking for 4 vehicles. The perfect location from which to explore the local towns and villages either by car or on foot. Multiple walks criss crossing the beautiful cotswold and Vale of Evesham countryside. Located on the Blossom trail which is a must see in the spring. Perfect location from which to visit the home of National Hunt Horse Racing at Cheltenham. Heralded as the 'heart of the Cotswolds', Broadway resonates a vibrant antithesis of tranquil exhilaration. Boasting a generous offering of unique local attractions, high fashion retail shopping and culturally diverse gastronomic experiences, it's a village to really indulge yourself in. The village is nestled at the foot of Fish Hill (where apparently monks used to store fish and the 18th century ‘Fish Inn' once stood). Broadway Tower (sometimes also referred to as Beacon or Fish Inn Tower) is 65ft high and stands atop the hill overlooking the village. A much loved retreat for the Arts and Crafts Movement founder William Morris, this marvellous folly was built by the sixth Earl of Coventry's family in the late 18th century, and on a clear day you can see no fewer than 14 counties from the top of it. As part of an extensive country estate (which also houses an animal park), it lies close to an Anglo-Saxon cemetery, where eight graves complete with knives, spears, beads and brooches were excavated in 1954. The full extent of Broadway's majesty is its wide street lined with a delightful mix of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian buildings. The village has one of the longest High Streets in England. The village's 'broad way' (actually called High Street) lined with red chestnut trees, reflects the varied architectural history from grand Georgian buildings to ones of humbler though quaint beginnings that even reaches back, in places, to the Romans. In the 17th century Broadway village became a busy staging post on the route from Worcester to London as coaches had to harness extra horses for the long pull up Fish Hill. As many as 33 inns existed within the village to service the many travellers passing through - three exist today.More

Large garden safe for children and dogs, (might want to check out gaps under fence for small dogs), bit noisy in garden from background traffic. Cottage spacious, however, an extra fridge would have been handy. But well equipped kitchen and clean. Reported a minor fault...More
