Stunning Sussex Downs Retreat
Rubens Barn is a total treasure. The property nestles in the South Downs like a wee secret hideaway with stunningly beautiful surroundings. The Barn is a delight from the moment you walk in to the beautifully prepared rooms. I have now stayed at the property for 3 years and I would be there again in a heartbeat. Huge thanks to the owners for my secret hideaway.

Great spot, nice pubs nearby
Beautiful spot, perfect for exploring surrounding countryside. Barn has been well done up and the bedrooms are great. However, entry is via the main bedroom, not ideal, and the living room area is very small and does not have enough seating, so had to use dining chairs. Television was bolted to wall up high - like a staff room! Nice for a one-off, but expensive for what it was and won't be going back.

A Christmas Treat
The Barn is situated in a very peaceful little spot of West Sussex close to the South Downs way. We spent a few lovely days over our Christmas holidays in the Barn, enjoying the scenery and some of the treats thoughtfully left for us by the owners, including a Christmas tree. The interior of the Barn is comfortable, warm and clean. The beds are a good size and the kitchen has everything you need. We really enjoyed our visit in the depths of winter and had a very special Christmas day in beautiful surroundings. The Barn is well maintained and a lot of thought has gone into making it attractive and exceptionally comfortable.

Stunning Rubens Barn
Wow....what a stylish, beautifully tranquil and well appointed property. In the heart of the Sussex Downs, I had a wonderful and tranquil home after the mayhem of Goodwood and the Festival of Speed. Rob and Rachel have created superb accommodation, and I have already booked for next year. May stay longer next time!

Small and perfectly formed barn in tranquil setting
In its tranquil setting, this small and perfectly formed barn with lovely views serves as the ideal base from which to explore the area. The barn’s best features include a breakfast table in the pretty garden, an adjacent tennis court, and a roll-top bath for maximum relaxation. Walks from the doorstep abound and there are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. The friendly proprietors are on-hand to welcome guests and the provision of a breakfast hamper is a particularly welcome touch.

Lovely holiday barn
We really enjoyed our stay at Rubens Barn. The barn is comfortable & relaxing and we both felt v chilled out. It had everything we needed and the welcome hamper was indeed most "welcome"! Everything was absolutely spotless and the kingsize bed was super comfy. Owners were on hand if we needed them (which we didn't) but they weren't intrusive at all and we were left alone to enjoy our stay. We would definitely recommend Rubens Barn to anyone looking to holiday in the area as it was ideally situated for Bosham, Petworth, West Wittering etc.

Cosy and peaceful retreat
We rented the barn for 3 nights as we were attending the wedding of my niece locally. We had the most awesome wedding but knowing that we had somewhere peaceful with all the comforts of home that we could come back to at the end of each evening was so lovely. The attention to detail including the most amazing breakfast hamper we've ever been given was great. It was no trouble for them to loan us the ironing board and bedding for my sister to stay. We could also take our dog, which was us was the real bonus as he needed to come with us. It is not that large but with 3 bathrooms it more than catered for our party of 4. Had a particularly wonderful evening at the Fox Runs Free pub with the wedding party, with really gorgeous food and another great meal at the White Horse, Graffham. Would definitely recommend this property and would return.

Peace and tranquility in five star accommodation
Our second stay in this fabulous converted barn and we were so happy to be back! The owners have thought of every last detail to ensure maximum comfort and total relaxation. High quality bed linens and towels and extremely well equipped kitchen all in the most idyllic surroundings imaginable. You can go for long walks straight from the Barn and Chichester is only a 15 minute drive. Rob and Rachel went out of their way to make us feel incredibly welcome and were able to give us lots of advice on attractions in the area. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Five Star cottage in beautiful, peaceful surroundings
My family and I enjoyed an incredibly relaxing few days staying at Rubens Barn. The cottage is extremely well equipped with high quality bedding and wonderfully soft towels. The kitchen had everything we needed and the owners had gone beyond our expectations to make sure we had everything we could possibly want for a delicious breakfast. The cottage was perfectly situated in the midst of the beautiful, peaceful countryside but very close to Chichester. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful Little Cottage
We have recently returned from a short stay at Ruben's Barn. The Barn is perfectly situated for exploring the area and the owners, Rachel & Rob, provided some excellent recommendations for beach, museums and restaurants which were very well received. The cottage is beautifully appointed and very well looked after. The little extras (toiletries and hamper) were a bonus too. Highly recommended!
