Woodbridge, Suffolk, East Anglia, England
Snug in winter and open house in the summer, Pightle Cottage has overlooked its namesake - the village pightle, or green - since around 1850. The cottage holds onto its charm and original features but has been tastefully refurbished to a quality finish throughout - from winding staircase to bright, well-kitted kitchen/dining room and cosy adjoining sitting room, complete with open log fire. Upstairs, there is a light and airy double bedroom overlooking the Pightle, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Back downstairs the kitchen looks onto a neat secluded cottage garden, with an outhouse for garden furniture and bike storage.
