Close to the sea, restaurants with seafood, cafes and shops. Try the fish smokeries on the beach for great fish. Well fitted out and in good order, the cottage is a delight to couples of all ages, leaving the children and dogs at home. Nice to have two bathrooms and effective central heating. Home from home! Whilst no dedicated car parking, it’s free in the street and plenty of spaces out of season. Lots to see and do around Aldeburgh. Mimsmere RSPB centre for good birdwatching. Snape Maltings offers excellent concerts and shopping plus boat trips up the river. Explore the delightful Red House, home toBenjamin Britten and Peter Pears. The Eels Foot pub near Leiston has good food and live folk music on Thursday nights plus the last Sunday in the month.Convenient supermarkets , Adnams shop for self catering.

Lovely cottage
Pretty-well perfect for our 5 day break and first visit to Aldeburgh. Well equipped comfortable and spotlessly clean . Comfortable bed and the delight of two bathrooms, each with a loo, one with a good Makti shower and the other with a bath and hand held hair washing spray. Comfortable lounge dining area and back private terrace. Well equipped kitchen and nice touch of a welcome pack of local biscuits and ground coffee. The stairs are quite steep with high risers, which I found quite challenging ( age, dodgy knee and updtairs Lois)Whilst no allocated parking there is plenty of free street parking close by. Good restaurants/ cafes/ bakers within walking distance . The best fish and chips in England and fine platters of smoked fish from the nearby beach front smokeries. Plus Snape Maltings for a concert. Plenty to do and see. Can’t wait to get back in Spring 2023 but have booked a ground floor alternative! Knee op due??

Brilliant!
This cottage rates as one of the top 3 we've ever stayed in. Spotless, tastefully furnished, very comfortable and close to everything in Aldeburgh. A great base from which to tour around.

Very Comfortable Stay!
Admiral Cottage is very well equipped, tastefully furnished, comfortable and we found everything we needed for our stay. I am also very pleased to say that the accommodation was very clean. We enjoyed being a few steps away from the seafront and also Aldeburgh’s lovely high street with its many independent shops and galleries. We enjoyed several local walks, a visit to the church and meals out at the Lighthouse restaurant plus fish and chips from Aldeburgh fish and chip shop. The cottage had a nice secluded courtyard but unfortunately we didn’t have the weather for it.

Lovely cottage very comfortable, light and airy interior.
Admiral Cottage is in a great location in a street between Aldeburgh High St and the beach front. Car parks nearby and we managed to get roadside parking for our car. No problem with eating out every night as so much choice just around the corner. We couldn't fault the interior of the cottage.Comfortable bed and both bathrooms were luxurious.
I enjoyed reading the Wide Sargasso Sea that just happened to be one of the cottage paperbacks and on my booklist. The whole place was spotlessly clean (except for seagull droppings in courtyard that cannot be helped by the seaside of course). The kitchen was well equipped.
We would happily return to this cottage again. We loved it.
