Our old town house is a 'home from home' for the many guests that stay here. Recent refurbishments, which enhance the historic features, are to a high and comfortable standard. Behind the house is a charming enclosed secluded garden; a lovely sun trap. The house is located in a historic, conservation area of Ludlow, beneath the only surviving town gate and just 5 minutes walk to the town centre and castle. Ludlow is a delightful market town described as an architectural gem with a lively community feel. About the neighborhood
Ludow castle is a well preserved monument to the town’s former prominence in the Welsh Marches and forms the back drop to most of the festivals held throughout the year. (http://www.ludlow-shropshire.com/index.php). This includes the famous food festival in September, a medieval Christmas fare in November and an summer festival (June/July). National trust properties close by include Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. The English Heritage’s Stokesay Castle is well worth a visit. In nearby Mortimer forest there is horse riding and for the more adventurous mountain biking. There are numerous places to walk either from the house or further afield. The Long Mynd at Church Stretton is one of our favourites. Other attractions include the Discovery Centre at Craven Arms and Acton Scott Workin...
