Our newly renovated cottage is steeped in history dating back to 1783. It comfortably sleeps 4 plus a further 2 guests on a deeply sprung sofa bed. The location is great for walking, cycling and exploring the Ironbridge Museums, pubs and restaurants. The Space We have tried hard to create a flexible, practical and pleasant space for you to stay. The two single beds can be zipped together to create one king sized bed. So whether you are two couples or a family you will be well catered for. More guests ? The sofa bed is of good quality with a deeply sprung mattress for optimum comfort. We do allow responsible dog owners to bring their pets, but would ask that you restrict them to the downstairs open plan area using the child gates provided. History of the property. The sofa bed is of good quality with a deeply sprung mattress for optimum comfort. We do allow responsible dog owners to bring their pets, but would ask that you restrict them to the downstairs open plan area using the child gates provided. History of the property. Carpenters Row is an early example of accommodation built specifically by the Coalbrookdale Company to attract a workforce to its employment. The row originally consisted of eight cottages and two brew houses. The design of the row was symmetrical: numbers 1-5 were mirror images of numbers 6-10. Each house accommodated the workforce using a system of 'hot bedding', workers from one shift occupying the straw mattress beds from the other, approximately 15 persons per house. So at one point in history the three converted houses that you will be staying in would have once housed around 45 workers. Each house also performed a certain function, the brew-house, what is now the kitchen, the old cast iron pot from the kitchen is now in the garden, the bakehouse is number 4 Carpenters row and is desperately in need of some attention which the Museum are planning to do. Guest Access You have access to the whole house, there are no adjoining neighbours, as the property next door is owned by the Museum and are currently unoccupied. The grade II listed cottage consists of 1 kitchen 2 bathrooms (1 is En-suite) 2 bedrooms 27 ft (8.2m) Oak Beamed living room 1 wood burner + gas central heating 2 sofa's (1 is a sofa bed) Garden to rear and off road parking for 1 car (other free parking can be found nearby) Garden at front of house is gated and has railings, however we cannot guarantee that it is dog proof, or child proof as some of us just have an urge to roam! We provide towels, shower gel, shampoo and dish washer tablets and all the basics that you would expect in a home. A full inventory will be sent to you when you book. More

A great base for exploring the Ironbridge Gorge, the cottage provides well thought out, good quality, dog friendly accommodation. The log burner made it all very cosy. Easy walking access to the Museum of Iron and Enginuity. Slightly more strenuous, but very pleasant walk down...More

About the neighborhood
Carpenters Row Holiday Cottage is just a stones throw away from the Ironbridge Gorge Museum of Iron and Enginuity ( an interactive learning centre for children of all ages). The closest pub is just a short stagger and the area is abound with cycle routes and marked walks that start from the doorstep of the cottage. The Museums use a passport ticket system, which on their website says.... ''The Annual Passport Ticket represents fantastic value. It allows unlimited daytime admission to all 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums, during normal opening hours, so you can return as often as you like for one year. If after 12 months you have still not visited particular sites, you can return at any time in the future to make one free visit to the sites that you've missed'' Within walking dista...
