This is the ideal location for a country get away, paddocks and field shelters are available for guests wishing to bring or rent horses and take advantage of the amazing trekking and trail riding in neighbouring Shotover Park. Lovely place
Lovely place. Well maintained. Had all the amenities required. Was received by the grounds care taker and made to feel very welcome.

Stable Lodge is welcoming, spacious and relaxing.
Stable Lodge is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. It was clean, as were the utensils, crockery and white goods. There was plenty of bedding, individual toiletries, and milk and water in the fridge.
The view from the lounge area and decking is fantastic and the walks around the site were brilliant for our 2 dogs.
There was one folder with minimal information which gave Stable Lodge a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Peter was always on hand for any concerns, information or just for a chat.
We loved that the booking dates can be flexible as this time we needed a Wednesday to Wednesday break away.
We’re pleased that we’ve found Stable Lodge and hope to return many times in the future as it’s an ideal solution to visiting family in Oxford.

Cleanliness level is very bad
Please do not book this property. The property has been misrepresented. Given that we are in the middle of a pandemic, the cleanliness of this property is very bad. When we arrived, sheets were soiled, no handwash in bathroom, blinds are soiled. We had to abandon our holiday (which cost us two times more just to find somewhere else to stay that was self catering and Covid safe) upon arrival and made the decision to leave the property due to the poor state of cleanliness. Owner promised us a full refund and we are still waiting to hear from him. Quite appalling that there has been no communication given what we went through. I have complained to Holiday lettings. I am sharing this review so others don't have the horrible experience that we had.

These people were exstemely rude to say the least and looking for fault in our property. We know they found a cheaper property locally and clearly didn’t want to stay in ours.
We refunded them the totally amount as really didn’t want guests around our site who clearly didn’t want to be there.
They used the shower in the couple of hour of being there and left masses of black hair in the shower, also it appear they used the bed which also had the same hair.
We have never had a bad review in many years especially for cleanliness.
Please do not let these people put you off staying in a lovely place check our other reviews over a number of years to see what other guests have said.

Amazing time spent here!
Me and my partner came here for a quick last minute getaway, we had a lovely stay, couldn’t fault anything about it. Would recommend it to anyone especially those who enjoy the countryside

Great get away
Lovely place for some peace and quiet with the log burner on full tilt. Really relaxing. Advice driving there in the daytime, as night time proved more of a challenge!

Excellent place to relax just outside of Oxford
The Lodge lies in a very nice setting surrounded with grassland and has a good view of the area. The Lodge itself is very well maintained and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The place is just perfect to stay close to Oxford with all the amenities of Oxford, but still be in the middle of the country side. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

Just loved it
Arrived to beautiful scenery and a gorgeous stable conversion! Everything you needed was there, the dogs loved the walks in the meadow. We loved our stay. Thank you.

Relaxing stay
The cottage has wonderful views from the sitting-room and terrace. A lovely spacious cottage that you can just relax in. Good walks from the door and easy access into Oxford using the P&R which is about 10 mins drive away.
It could do with a visitor book so we could see what others have enjoyed such as good eateries and places to visit.. We would happily stay again.

an excellent base to explore Oxfordshire
We (my wife, our 11 year old daughter and me) stayed in the Stable Lodge for two weeks. The cottage provided us with everything we needed. The view from the cottage is great. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. It was a very nice base to explore Oxfordshire. The Thornhill park and ride was very convenient. Just a 10 minutes drive, park the car and the bus will take you to the center of Oxford or even London. We enjoyed every moment of our vacation!
