Dickmans Cottage
Lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean apart from a couple of cobwebs in the beams. Beds were really comfortable and a lovely mature garden with some garden furniture to enjoy the nice weather we had. Kitchen was small and due to the staircase you had to watch you didn't bang your head, but this was not a major inconvenience and added to the cottages character. Located in a lovely village with 3 pubs all in close proximity - 5 min walk. Would recommend booking a table in advance if you want to eat. We went into Nottingham City centre one day and visited Sherwood Forest the next. Between a 20 to 30 minute drive for both. Would recommend and stay again.

Dog friendly cosy cottage
I can only confirm what others have said. We have just had a long weekend at the cottage and it was perfect. Very cosy and homely with everything you need. Perfect for the dog with a safe enclosed garden. Three dog friendly pubs in the village with the Lambley Inn just a 2 minute walk away serving excellent food (and dog friendly). Great location and with off road parking. If you are looking for dog friendly accommodation in this area this ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended and we would certainly stay there again if we are in the area

Family holiday
Late 18th century cottage. Parking enough for 2 cars at the end of property garden. Lovely and homely, well equipped. Everything you need for a lovely get away long or short. The cottage also has a small selection of dvd’s And books, games. Close by is The Lambley pub, great views all round. Approximately 6 miles from Nottingham. Good communication with the owners.

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that you felt that there was good communication with us. We are fortunate in having the Lambley pub so conveniently close, as well as two other pubs in the village - all provide good food. We hope to see you again soon.

Cozy cottage with secure garden for dogs
We had a lovely but brief stay in this cosy, historic cottage which is well situated for trips to Sherwood and Nottingham (for two Robin Hood fans) and other parks and places around about. We had two children and two dogs with us and so the wifi and garden were very welcome. We had been really grateful to the owner for her help with the booking and especially for allowing us to bring both dogs. As it is a small, historic cottage, it has some low doorways and small staircase and so being taller and clumsy did mean I hit my head several times! But we have already recommended this cottage to friends.

Delightful!
This is a lovely cosy cottage, lots of character and everything you need. We had an emergency need for a needle and thread, yep found it! Everything was lovely, and a very nice country feel. Kitchen really well equipped. Immaculately clean and quiet. Can’t wait to visit again. Great pub for a meal just up the road. Friendly and good menu.

Fantastic!
Just to add to Colin’s review (he’s my husband!) - I thought that Dickman’s Cottage is the most wonderful place! Apart from the fact that it has so much historical interest, the owners have presented it so beautifully and have thought of everything that a visitor could ever possibly need. We were so impressed (actually I didn’t really want to leave...) and can thoroughly recommend it without any reservations.👍👍👍

Splendid location - and with character!
Charming old cottage with modern ‘insides’ (interesting history!). Full amenities and comfortable beds. Quiet at nights - important for a good sleep! Ideally situated, just 30min bus ride into town - routes 46/47 into Nottingham. Can recommend the Robin Hood p.h. For good value food and ale, just 250 yds away.

Comfortable welcoming accommodation
A really lovely homely cottage in a traditional Nottinghamshire village, with attendant ceiling beams that are not too low (approximately 6' from the floor)! The whole atmosphere on arrival was excellent and the place was clean and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom on the first floor recently renovated and thus clean and well fitted. The garden is manicured and largely secluded. There are some new properties nearby, but these don't detract from the location of the property. A very good welcome pack also describes the interesting history of the property. The lounge is comfortable with a settee and high easy chair. The dining table is an excellent and solid antique which seats four people with ease. The kitchen has all the necessary offices, dishwasher, fridge etc and all the utensils and crockery are provided along with tea and coffee facilities. Very handy for all local facilities and on a direct bus route to Nottingham, so easy and cheap travel, with the bus stop on Chapel Street around 100 yards from the property. We purchased a Grouprider for £7.50 which enabled both of us to travel on any Nottingham City Transport bus all day. The buses leave pretty well every half hourly but take different routes to get into the city. A slight word of caution for disabled people. As an older property, the stairs to the first floor are quite steep and all the bedrooms are on the first floor. If the driver is also disabled, the car park space is at the foot of the garden which requires a walk of around 20 yards to the cottage up a hill approximately 1 in 5. Otherwise, if the driver is able to walk this hill, the car can be temporarily parked outside the cottage door on the level to enable the disabled person to avoid the hill. Able bodied persons would have no problem with this property.

Thank you for writing a review. We are glad you enjoyed the cottage and found the welcome pack useful and interesting. It was good to hear from you about the Grouprider scheme and that you were able to use public transport to get from the village into Nottingham. We hope to see you again when you are next in the area.
