Everything about this stay we loved . The rooms are so nice and cozy perfect for our 3 night stay. Clean and quiet location . Taxi only 5 minutes into the centre .

Placed booking for both apartments 2 months prior to travel date. One week before stay the Covid level alert meant it was illegal for the party of 6 people to stay as we were all from different households. I emailed to confirm cancellation and was sent a very blunt, one line message (obviously from a phone) saying 'we would hold as a credit'. I explained this would not be possible for the same people & requested a refund. Even though the reason for cancellation was totally out of my control, they would not even entertain doing the honorable thing & refund payment. Instead they expect me to wait until covid is over (whenever that will be) and book again for different people? How does that work? I would need to pay out of my own pocket to refund the group who'd originally paid then find other people to fill booking in order to get my money back. Also I was told there would be a £80 supplement charge for weekend stay which is payable on arrival. 3 weeks before arrival I was inundated with daily emails asking for this charge to be paid immediately. I rang to confirm I was told to pay upon arrival, was told that'll be fine then proceeded to get emails & phone calls for payment - they obviously don't communicate with each other. Only glad I hadn't also paid the supplement charge as there's no way I'd be getting that back either.

Visited Stables No.1 for 1 night and had a lovely stay. Good communication, comfortable bed, quiet location and amenities good for a short stay. Bus stop ideal at the end of the drive into York and would recommend this method of transport into York as the City is a nightmare for parking unless you go early! Would use the Stables again if returning to York.

My husband booked the Stables for an anniversary treat and it was just that, a real treat. From the very beginning we felt at home, we had kindly been left plenty of milk for our three night stay, a selection of cereals and some bread for breakfast - perfect! The room was gorgeous and the beds super comfortable, so much so we didn’t go out one night and ordered in having read the options in the book. The very friendly cockapoo that lives with the owners greeted us most evenings and mornings, along with a couple of chickens! We had the most fabulous stay and couldn’t recommend the place enough, I can’t work our how anybody could leave anything but a five star review! Thank you for having us!!

Stopped here for two nights as a treat for my wife’s birthday. We were in the converted barn 1 which had a roll top bath at the end of the bed and a lovely walk in shower in the bathroom. Also in the room there was a self contained kitchenette with a microwave toaster kettle fridge and a sink plus all cutlery and crockery you would need. A beautiful place decorated to a high standard and the owner was very friendly. Also there was a folder with all details of local places to visit. Local restaurant and taxi numbers. Plus at the end of the drive was the bus stop which had easy routes direct into York. Would definitely recommend and definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed a brilliant 2 night stay here for our last weekend away before our first child arrives later this summer - everything was perfectly described and we instantly felt at home. The bed was super comfy, the kitchenette had everything you could need - even a well-stocked hamper full of breakfasts, snacks and milk in the fridge. The bathroom was spacious and modern but the roll-top bath really made if for us - what a lovely added luxury! The location was ideal for visiting York - either a 15 minute drive or a bus stop literally outside the front of the main property. If I wasn’t heavily pregnant we would have taken the bus, but this time we opted for parking in Marygate Car Park the first evening and Monks Cross Park & Ride on the Saturday. Thank you for a fantastic stay, we will definitely be recommending you to anyone visiting this beautiful city!

Went on saturday night 30th March.Didn't know what to expect as it was a prezzy for our birthdays.Was easy to find.We stayed in number 2 building.The accommodation was very nice .Had everything you need for a short stay.The imformation book was helpfull.Had a lovely meal out at the ship inn down the road.Taxi numbers were provided in the book.Bed was very comfortable.Top quality bedding.We didn't use it but at the back of property plenty for kids to do ,also a few small farm animals.Thanks for a lovely stay.

Booked for 1 night but would have liked 2 or 3. It was immaculately clean comfy beds and had everything you needed. Bus stop right outside to get into York centre. Lovely and quiet. Would definitely stay again

We have just returned from a one night stay in the converted stables room 1. (With the bath) The rooms are based in a lovely village just outside of York. The instructions we received via email where perfect and clear and we were straight in the room with no hassle. The positives for us: * The room is smart and clean and quite modern (Though not boutique as i anticipated as booking through York boutique lets) *We had a very good sleep. Comfy bed and its a very quiet location. *Located in a lovely village. The negatives for us: *The water pressure on the bath, shower etc is so poor. My girlfriend give up running a bath. We also didn't have time to call the owner / management as we were heading out for Dinner. *The room confirmation advised we had a breakfast hamper included. This never materialised. so we ended up driving into York for breakfast. *I would expect a room of this cost to include shower products. Although not the end of the world we did not take any and only realised there was none when it was too late. *To get to the room you have to pass somebodies house (i presume the owners) and for us it seemed a little awkward when we are walking past their kitchen / garden and tip toed when coming in late as not wanting to disturb the owners. The stay was a gift to us and looking at how much the stay is I'm not sure we would book again. I believe this is better suited to families as i think you can fit 6x people in the room. For this it would be worth the money. It is also a good option if you don't want to stay in York city centre but want to visit York. I think next time we would cut out the hassle of transport back and forth and stay in York itself. All in all we had a great trip to York (love the place). and we will certainly return, i just doubt to this accommodation.

My husband and i got this 2 night stay as a birthday present. So we stayed here last weeked friday and saturday in stable 1 with roll top bath. Absoultly beautiful well done to a high stanard and well clean. Some nice little complimenty touches.....we liked popcorn to put in micorwave 😊. We found owners very helful when speaking to them before arriving as dont have car and they advised us taxi buses ect which bus stop was at end of drive which we used to go into york which took 15minutes. We really enjoyed our very pleasant stay which was a nice change.
