Listing is for the whole 3 bedroom house, (2 singles, 1 double) located in central York with 2 allocated off-street parking spaces as well as free on-street parking. Sleeps 4 + baby. Family bathroom, en-suite shower room and downstairs wc. Free fast WIFI. All towels and linen provided, plus fresh milk and biscuits for arrival. You are welcome to bring a camp bed or airbed for an extra guest (there is space in the second bedroom or living room), but we don't provide extra bedding or towels for a fifth guest.

Please note; strictly no pets or smoking, thank you. Also, no stag or hen groups, all-male groups of more than 2 adults or parties please. Guests must be aged 25 and over (except children and babies staying with parents).

We find that guests like the flexibility and privacy of self-check-in. However, I live locally and will be contactable by phone or email between 8am and 10pm if you need help or have any queries and can usually make it over to the house within half an hour if necessary.

Nice clean house in quiet location with good parking. Easy stroll into York. The York Castle Museum is well worth seeing.

Excellent location for a pleasant walk into York city centre and also within a short driving distance of retail parks and leisure centre. Henshaw house is well equipped and very clean. The pint of milk in the fridge and Waitrose shortbread was a nice touch....More

About the neighborhood
Henshaw House is situated in a small, quiet, modern development in an elevated position (unaffected by recent floods), away from roads and noisy bars and overlooks a pleasant central green. Huntington Mews is only a 12 minute stroll to the city walls. The house has an enclosed garden which provides a tranquil space to relax in at the end of a busy day of sight seeing and shopping. The house also has the great addition of 2 private off-road allocated parking spaces, along with free on-street parking. It is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the railway station.
Supermarkets; Asda at Layterthorpe YO31 7UZ /Tesco Express, Huntington Road YO31 9HP / Waitrose, Foss Islands. Large Spar 5 minutes walk away too.
Getting around
Directions by car from railway station;
When driving out of the station, turn left (towards Royal York Hotel) and follow road up Station Road, towards the city centre, over Lendal bridge (you will see the Minster ahead). At the first traffic lights after Lendal bridge, with the Minster in sight, turn left (going past the theatre royal on your right and then gallery on your left). At the next lights, carry straight ahead on to Gillygate, past a row of shops and restaurants and then first right on to Lord Mayor's walk. You will see the city walls on your right. Take second left (at a main junction with traffic lights) on to Monkgate. Drive up Monkgate until you reach a small roundabout. Go straight ahead here on to Huntington Rd. Cont below;

From the South, West and South West;
Take the A1(M) north and exit at junction 44, heading east. Continue for 18.4 miles until you reach a roundabout and take the 1st exit on to the A1237. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit on to the Malton Road (A1036). Continue over the next roundabout (2nd exit) on the Malton Road/A1036. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit on to Heworth Green/A1036. At the next roundabout take the 4th exit on to Huntington Road. Continue for around ½ a mile then turn left on to Ramsay Close. A the mini roundabout take the last exit on to Huntington Mews. Number 20 is on the right hand side, some 150 yards down.
