The apartment is also very well positioned for those wishing to enjoy York races.The property has its own allocated parking space, private access to the river and has high quality communal area and lift access. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washer dryer and plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils. There is an iron, ironing board and hairdryer.The bathroom is spacious with large bath and shower and complimentary toiletries and has fluffy towels, robes and slippers.The large living room has a dining area, a comfortable quality 3 seater sofa and an armchair and TV. There is free unlimited WIFI.The bedroom is roomy with a high quality kingsize bed, lots of storage and mirrors.The apartment is centrally heated.The apartment is calm and tranquil with no outside noise even though it is in a city location. It's perfect for watching the world go by, see the boats on the river and enjoy the city views. The kitchen is stocked with quality crockery and cutlery and essentials of paper towels, salt and pepper. The fridge will have milk and a few essentials. There is always some treats waiting for you.

Second visit to Postern apartments and did not disappoint. The apartment is spotless and very comfortable. There isEverything you need for a pleasant stay and the little treats Sue leaves are most welcome . It is located a few minutes walk to Clifford’s Tower. Sue is very accommodating and will do her best to make your stay a pleasant one, will definitely stay again.

Brilliant stay
Absolutely beautiful apartment in a perfect position. Sue was very welcoming and left us a few treats & basics to get started. It was very clean and well equipped also very quiet yet close to all amenities. Allocated parking space very useful although no need to drive unless you are going out of town as all York within short walking distance. Five minutes walk to (recommended!) Indian restaurant and local Sainsbury’s.

Another fabulous stay
We have stayed in Sue and John’s flat a good number of times and we always love it. Great clean and well appointed and equipped flat in a central yet quiet location with excellent hosts - Sue and John are very kind responsive and accommodating. We would only stay somewhere else if this flat was not available which has happened on occasion. We will definitely holiday here again and more than happy to recommend - we have no doubts that you would enjoy it as much as we do.
Welcome pack is great after the long drive! Thank you for another great break.

Weekend Break
Had a fantastic stay .Sue & John were lovely hosts who came to meet us explained how everything worked And very helpful explaining what was on in york and how to find everything .Little extras butter milk muffins etc .Flat was perfect had everything needed just like home from home .Spotless and very comfortable.Short walk to city centre .A must for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in York.

Another excellent stay!
Great location with parking. Lovely flat. We try to always stay here when visiting York and always have a great holiday. Sue and John are excellent hosts. We love it. Can’t wait until our next holiday here.

Excellent
We have stayed at the Postern Gate Apartment on a number of occasions, and we enjoy each stay just as much as the last one. Sue and John go out of there way to make sure your stay is as pleasurable as possible, a real home from home with everything you need. It’s very well situated for all the shops, bars and restaurants, and you have your very own private parking space, which is a bonus when staying in York. Looking forward to our next stay in May 2021. Super apartment
A really nice apartment in a great location with a partial river view. Very easy to walk into the City, nothing is very far away. Private parking as well which is a bonus.
John and Sue were very good hosts with great communication throughout, including on the day we we arrived.
We would certainly stay here again, enjoyed our time in York.

York attractions including the Minster, The Shambles, museums, galleries and shopping quarters are all within easy walking distance.
Bishopthorpe Road trendy cafes, inns and restaurants are nearby.

How to get there
The apartment is next to the River Ouse at Skeldergate Bridge and a 10 minute walk from York Railway station.
From A64 take A19 towards York city centre along Fulford Road. On reaching the City, Fulford Road becomes Fishergate and then Tower Street as it crosses over the River Foss. Keep in the left hand lane at all times and cross over The River Ouse at Skeldergate Bridge into Bishopthorpe Road. Almost immediately after the bridge, take the first turn on the left at The Swan Pub onto Clementhorpe. Just before The Slip Inn turn left into Postern Close. Turn left towards the parking area and we will our will be there to meet you and show you the parking space.
