'Mallard' is the ideal base for a city break in beautiful York. It is a peaceful non-smoking ground floor 2-bedroom apartment, tucked away in a modern development close to the city centre. The River Ouse, Museum Gardens and Minster are just a short walk away, and it is very close to the National Railway Museum. Fully-equipped, modern, and with full gas-fired central heating, 'Mallard' is a great choice all the year round.

we were greeted by a lovely gentleman called peter who showed us where everything was etc
It was a lovely comfy flat with all modern amenities you'd need microwave, cooker, washer, dryer etc.2 of us stayed so my friend had one bedroom whilst I had the other both really spacious, including 2 bathrooms which was handy.
Also small touches were lovely milk in fridge for our arrival and bread, and butter and beds made up ready so nice.
Only short stroll into town of central york about 15 to 20 mins.
Nice quiet area and felt very safe and secure with separate outside main doors too. Nice and quiet any time of day or night.
Lovely warm flat with gorgeous hot showers after walking round york all day!!
Beds comfy too with ample spare pillows/covers etc.
All in all I would thoughrely recommend Richard's flat and peter who let us in helped too..
Would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay at the Mallard. A superb, fully equipped apartment. We had everything we needed for our week's stay. Great location, within walking distance to City centre and v close to railway museum. Bonus too in having your own designated parking space so no need to drive to/park up in City (which looks to be quite expensive). York Castle Museum definitely worth a visit, so much to see and do, we spent several hours exploring there. Would highly recommend the Mallard to anyone who's looking for a base to stay when visiting York. Excellent communication with Richard, the owner. Peter, the chap who showed us around the apartment, v polite and informative. Thanks both for a great stay!

A welcoming flat just a short walk from York centre
We were travelling as a family group of 3 adults and one child. The apartment was very well located, just beyond the Railway Museum and within easy walking distance of the city centre (10-15 mins depending on your pace). The flat was a great size; clean, extremely well equipped for self-catering and missing nothing that you might need for a few nights to a few weeks stay. Having parking included was a huge advantage as this can be a deciding factor for us when travelling to popular tourist destinations. Communication with Peter, who provided the welcome and handover was prompt and we would not hesitate to stay here again. An excellent trip from start to finish. Thanks too for providing provisions to get us started, you can't beat a cup of tea after a long drive.

Great Flat. Great Location
We have just returned from a wonderful few days in sunny York. Cannot recommend the mallard flat enough. Excellent communication we were warmly greeted by Peter when we arrived. The flat was spotlessly clean, very well appointed and comfortable, and very quiet. We really appreciated the milk, bread etc on arrival and being able to have a cup of tea straight away. A long easy walk into town we did it with a 6 and 3 year old. Thank you for our stay we will be back!

Very good flat,and very relaxing.
We didn't stay here,we stayed at Foss Flat, which is also owned by Richard. We stopped at Mallard last year, and was lovely,so we decided to give Foss Flat a go.
We stopped at Foss for a total of 6 weeks, over December,January. The stay was great,a nice relaxing flat, and in a quiet area.Secure parking, which is ideal.A short walk into York.First port of call was the Royal Oak Pub.( good pub).
The flat has everything you need.Nice and cosy. Many thanks to Simon, for his charming manner, and top class customer service skills.Nothing's too much.If you want anything, want to know anything,he knows, as he knows York very well.
Thanks again. We'll be back. So,if you can't get into Mallard for a holiday, try Foss Flat. They are both as good.( Sorry, can't find Foss Flat on tripadvisor.)

Mallard is worth the quack!
A lovely 2 bedroom flat, right on top of York centre and station yet in a quiet road. The Train Museum is literally round the corner on the way to the city centre. The beds in the flat are comfortable and and the linen clean and fresh.
