Seabreeze is a three bedroom cottage for up to six people. There is a separate patio area accessed from the front door and the courtyard is accessed by the back door. Sea Breeze has a separate kitchen with an electric cooker and washer/dryer. The living / dining room is a combined room.
The first bedroom is a double, upstairs. the second is a twin room also upstairs and the third bedroom is downstairs and has an adult size bunk bed. The bathroom is on the first floor and has a shower over the bath, toilet and wash basin. There is a connecting door to the neighbouring cottage, Abbey View, which makes it possible for a group of up to twelve people to stay.
Accommodation for six people? Ancient fridge, NO freezer, filthy old cooker. The shower was ridiculous, appalling. Seating all stained, carpets and floors dirty. Mattresses so thin we both had backache. Cobwebs everywhere. Kitchen and bathroom needs total refurbishment. Location was good, but it was the only thing. What a rip off.

The cutest little family holiday
We went for a family break right at the end of August, with our kids and two fat little French bulldogs.
The cottages are cute, and the surroundings are gorgeous. Tyson & Fury are the resident goats, they are super friendly and cute, Walking my dogs at 5am saw me face to face with 5 or 6 peacocks right outside our cottage door - which admittedly was unexpected but they were also a pleasant addition to the surroundings
The property manager Laurie is a true gentleman, and very helpful all round when something cropped up with the booking, which was resolved super quickly.

Broomfield cottages
Beautiful cottage with loads of outdoor space for the kids to play, any queries were answered promptly. The whole cottage was comfy and homely and we cannot wait to book again.

Good value for money
I paid £200 for a 2 night stay in sea breeze. I thought that was good value considering may other properties were double the price. It was a bit dated and quite basic but a bit quirky! I wouldn't rule out staying there again if it was the same price

A very tied cottage
I didn’t expect 5 star from the price we paid but this cottage is very dated. It could definitely benefit from a lick of paint and a good clean. We had to wash the crockery before we used it but only ate breakfast in as the cooker was dated too.
When we arrived both of the tired sofas had soaking wet arms ( I am guessing they were marked and had been washed) so we covered these with towels and we used our picnic blanket to cover one of the sofas.
The play room had a very old pool table in with a half set of balls and one cue with no tip.

Ok for the price
I stayed at this place with my husband & kids the first weekend of half term. I’ve stayed at Broomsfield farm a few times, in the crows nest. This time we opted for sea breeze because it is bigger having 3 bedrooms. The price was very reasonable £80 per night. The cottage is located on an old farm which has several other cottages too, most built out of old farm buildings.
The farm is located on the outskirts of whitby & close to Sainsbury’s & B&M. There is plenty of parking right near the cottage & it also has outside space with a small bbq & picnic bench: Downstairs is a kitchen, living room with dining table & a small bedroom with bunk beds, off the living room. The wifi worked really well & the tv was freeview.
The kitchen wasn’t very well equipped & the freestanding cooker was useless! The oven part worked ok, but the hob barely got warm. It’s was very old & not that clean either, so it might not be ideal if you plan on cooking your own food. In fact the cleanliness of the whole place was not great. The dust was ridiculous! On the ledge up the stairs it was thick with dust, enough to make a dust ball. The tv cabinet & tv were that dusty I could write my name in it! Also the bathroom was not very clean, hairs in the sink & toothpaste on the taps! So I had to clean the whole place before we even settled in.
Upstairs has slanted roof, so space is limited in the bathroom & second bedroom. This bedroom has 2 single beds, but also has a connecting door to the main bedroom, great if u have kids...but not so great if you are there with friends. The master bedroom is huge & does have its own door too. The bed was very creaky & every noise from next door could be heard, even people talking. The bed in here definitely needs replacing.
Overall we had a nice weekend & the price was reasonable. I would stay again mainly because of the good price. I’d just be prepared to clean the place first. I’m definitely not a clean freak...but the place should have been cleaner than what it was. I know this is something that would put a lot of people off staying again.
