Reviewed July 5, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Our family of four stayed at this property for one week in June 2015 while one of us attended a conference at Queen Mary University of London. It suited our needs perfectly, and was considerably less expensive than a week at a hotel for four people. What we liked best was how homelike it felt—extremely comfortable, clean and attractive, but not so fancy as to make us feel out of place. Our teenage daughter appreciated having her own bedroom, and our younger son liked the large garden (yard) in back. There are two large bedrooms, one small bedroom, and the bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is an open floor plan including sitting, dining, and kitchen areas. There is also a nice enclosed sunroom between the house and the garden. We appreciated the fast, reliable wi-fi, the modern entertainment system, the books and board games provided, and the wealth of useful information provided in the “house book.” For questions not addressed therein, the owner was very quick to respond via text...

I booked this as an alternative to staying in a more expensive hotel for myself and three other friends. We stayed for a long weekend and at the end we honestly didnt want to leave! The house was as described, extremely clean, well furnished and a fantastic location (only a short walk away from bethnal green tube station). The most impressive aspect about it though was the feeling that we wern't staying in a cold, sterile hotel but someones home. Very warm and cosy! The quaint little village down the road had a deli, fishmongers, green grocer and a load of great pubs and restaurants, we ended up buying some great food and cooking dinner ourselves in the very well equiped kitchen. I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants a retreat from the chaos of london but still close enough to be in the heart of the city, its that good that im definately planning to stay here in the future!

About the neighborhood
Hackney is the creative hub of London right now. It had a lot of money invested into the area before the London Olympics were held here in 2012. It has lots of green spaces, as well as fun local markets (Broadway Market, Netil Market) and hundreds of restaurants and bars for you to go to. It also has good transport links via bus or tube to get you to any of London's tourist attractions.
Access
Car not needed
How to get there
It's easily accessed from Gatwick, Stanstead and Heathrow airports. I would recommend a taxi service when arriving if there are more than three people, as it works out cheaper than the Airport transport.

Activities nearby
There Is A Golf Course Within 30 Mins Drive, There Are Tennis Courts Nearby.
