We stayed 4 nights at Jay's nest just before Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . The accommodation was very warm and cosy and well equipped with everything you would need, it was very clean and tidy and quiet just what we like. It was lovely that there was a Christmas tree outside the front door and one inside. Jay's nest is in a great location you can walk into windermere in 10mins or Bowness on windermere were there are some lovely restaurants. Gary was on hand if you needed anything . I would definitely recommend this accommodation for exploring the lakes and I look forward to staying there again in the future.

Stayed at Jays Nest over the Jubilee Bank Holiday. We had a lovely 4 night break that was booked last minute. Good communication and instructions from the owners. In a great position for both Windermere and Bowness. Lovely clean and well equipped property. Great private sitting out area overlooking Windermere. We couldn’t fault anything and would definitely stay here again.

Jay's Nest is perfectly situated for exploring all the Lake District has to offer. You can walk down to Bowness easily but then escape the bustle by returning back up the the village where the property is located. We found Jay's Nest to be spotlessly clean and really well equipped for everything you need for a self catering stay. Ange and Gary were lovely hosts and only too pleased to offer advice on the local area, as well as having provided leaflets, maps and books already. We would definitely book again and certainly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Lake District.

Jays Nest is a spacious stylish property that has everything you need for your stay. It also has stunning views of Windermere from your sofa and is only a 10 minute stroll to Bowness or Windermere. We were made to feel very welcome and cant wait to come back next year!!

Very comfortable accommodation in a great location. Gary and Ange were very welcoming and we had a wonderfully relaxing few days.

Everything we needed plus some nice touches. CLEAN, roomy - on the fringes but still well placed - Bowness and Windermere an easy walk unless you`re VERY lazy. Hosts friendly and take a genuine interest, but "the Nest" remains quiet and peaceful, a private place, and bed`s comfy too. If was being picky, would say the only thing we missed would be a log burner but I`d also have to temper that with the fact we`re both log burner daft so we`re a bit biased - still booked it tho`, and are very glad we did, `tis quite a find! More choice in Bowness, but lots of options for food/drink locally. Oh, yeah, and check out the Hole in t`Wall in Bowness if you enjoy a proper pub, seriously - good beer, good food and log fires, also noticeably cheaper than some of the nearby ripoff joints too! Lots to see. We loved Jays Nest and would be very happy to go back again when able. AL + PENNY

Well located situated between Bowness and Windermere and with excellent transport links to all parts of the Lake District and with great views this place has a lot going for it. Unfortunately on our visit here we did have several issues, the place was not cleaned properly at all and the freezer section of fridge was iced up causing water to leak onto and spoil our food in the fridge. There is mould growing on bathroom windows and various other points need to be addressed. The owners were on holiday on our arrival and did not make any effort to contact us during our stay when they returned, so we did not meet them! I would have expected a “welcome pack”of basic foodstuffs(tea,milk,bread etc) and cleaning products( wash up liquid, bleach etc) and Toilet rolls!!! To be provided as in EVERY other rental I have ever stayed in. The filthy barbecue and slippy leaf covered decking were also unable to be used negating the benefits of the outside space. It appeared that the owners seemed to have slipped into “end of season” mode a little early? And took there eye off the ball in regards to running there business! I still rate this rental very good due to location,BUT I feel the owners need to re-focus and make sure they personally check all is well prior to all occupants arriving.

Very comfortable and quiet place with nice outdoor space. We were provided with everything that’s needed. Great location, just a short walk to Bowness and Windermere centre. We would stay here again.

My boyfriend and I booked this as a last minute decision to head to the Lakes for a few days. We are so lucky that this place was available as it was perfect for us. Great location, had everything you could need, clean, spacious yet cosy and super comfortable. The owners are lovely, highly recommend staying here. We would definitely consider staying here again on future visits to our favourite place!
