Lakeland Cottage by Lake Windermere in Windermere is centrally heated throughout and is within 5 minutes easy walking distance to churches, banks, post offices, restaurants, cafes, coffee / tea shops, wine bars, pubs, inns, hotels, independent specialist shops, supermarkets, stores (the home of Lakeland) boutiques, library, theatres, cinemas, art galleries, museums, and sports centres are all within 350 yards. Lakeland Cottage is 5 minutes easy strolling distance of villages, woods, and lake shores and countless trails, moor land and fells with all the amenities the Lake District National Park has to offer. Holiday activities include painting, riding, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, cycling, mountain biking, golfing and fell walking, or leisurely strolls beside the world-renowned Lake Windermere, the marina and steamer piers at Bowness-on-Windermere. A visit to the Lake District is not complete without a cruise on Lake Windermere, where boats may be hired. The many visitor attractions nearby include Beatrice Potter's home and museum. Very nice, clean cottage. Close enough to walk to town. Sleeping arrangements were great. Bathroom is under the stairs which made it very difficult to shower. Pat was very helpful and accommodating.

Thank you for your review. The ground floor bathroom has a shower over the bath, which allows you to take a shower while seated in the bath due to restricted headroom.

Lakeland Cottage has double glazed large dual aspect bay windows with views overlooking Claife Heights and Sheriff's Walk Woods, Windermere, a quiet peaceful neighbourhood. Lakeland Cottage is midway between the two Lakeland villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere close to all amenities and to Windermere railway, bus, coach stations and Lake Windermere, the marina and steamer piers at Bowness-on-Windermere are a ten-minute walk away towards Bowness-on-Windermere or you can take a walk down to Lake Windermere through Sheriff Walk Woods opposite Lakeland Cottage.
Getting around
Windermere Train Station is within a 15 minute walk allowing a train journey to the market town of Kendal, the town of Penrith and the City of Carlisle. Buses stop outside Lakeland Cottage. Buses journey throughout the Lake District Park and Windermere bus and coach station is within a 15-minute walk from the property. There are minicab, taxi services and private car hire services close by, Bicycle hire is available in Windermere and boat hire is available at the marina in Bowness-on-Windermere where there are ferries and steamers sailing to all to the Lake District's villages. Mountain Goat bus runs from Windermere Village travelling across the mountains and fells of the Lake District National Park and beyond.
