Rock Lynn is a newly renovated, detached bungalow set in an elevated position above Braithwaite village with the most fabulous views over the village towards Skiddaw, the Helvellyn range and right round to Barrow. This is a fabulous bungalow which has been finished to the highest standards. Full gas central heating and double glazing.
Additional amenities include: walkers, TV/DVD, fire/log burner, cyclists, pub within 200m.

Rock Lyn is beautifully appointed bungalow in Braithwaite, just outside Keswick. It has 2 local pubs and a small grocery in the village plus it is very conveniently placed for travelling to Keswick and many other local attractions and walks. It has recently been refurbished and is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is large and airy and comes complete with most utensils you would want for cooking. The bathrooms to both rooms are very modern and the shower in the back bedroom (where we stayed) was excellent! The beds are large and comfy and it is extremely peaceful at night. Views from the windows are stunning! We stay there every year and absolutely love it!

A beautiful spacious dog friendly cottage in a stunning location.
A lovely well appointed cottage in Braithwaite with wonderful views and a short steep walk from the back garden up onto the fells. Unfortunately not warm enough to make use of the bbq and outdoor eating area . Welcome pack much appreciated. Plenty of walks straight from the cottage but well situated for trips to all the lakes. Recommend the Coledale Inn just 5 minutes walk away, the best fish and chips we have found anywhere. Will definitely book again when we come back to the lakes.

Stunning views from this spacious cottage
Rock Lynn is a fabulous cottage to stay in. It is very spacious and has views across to Skiddaw and Helvellyn. You can do so many walks from the door - we hardly used our car. The village is a very short walk away where there are two excellent pubs. The cottage itself is like 'home from home' - warm and comfy. There are also lovely gardens - we sat out every day (even when it was raining as there is a covered patio) admiring the view. I cannnot recommend Rock Lynn highly enough.

spacious, well equipped and comfortable bungalow
We were very happy with our stay at Rock Lynn - a great location, clean and well equipped. We loved the light and airy sitting room, lovely outdoor space (unfortunately the weather didn't allow the opportunity to use the bbq area) and plenty of park.

Peaceful with open outlook
Rock Lynn is a lovely, spacious bungalow. It is well equipped and very clean. It is close to small local shops and pubs. There is a large patio which was well used in the lovely weather we were lucky enough to enjoy.

Comfortable house, great view, peaceful, look forward to next stay.
We had a really enjoyable stay in this lovely holiday house and we really felt at home along with our Chihuahua. Having stayed in the owner's B&B nearby we knew that Rock Lynn would be special. We found it clean, tidy and well equipped. The open fire is a treat though we were warm enough with the central heating. We found the beds and furniture comfy. We hope to return in warmer weather so as to enjoy the outside seating / barbeque area. The views from the house windows are of Skiddaw round to Catbells and Causey Pike. Its good to be somewhere so peaceful even though the village is just down the lane, and Keswick is just a few minutes in the car. We will return soon.

Warm cosy well appointed pet friendly bungalow with great views
This is the second trip to Rock lynn this year and again it didn't disappoint. The bungalow has two great bedrooms, one en-suite, with large beds and all bedding and towels supplied.
The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, crockery and appliances. The wooden floor makes it easy to clean up after pets too. The utility room off the kitchen is ideal for storing boots and walking gear and has direct access to the outside which is also great for dogs. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer too.
The Lounge is very comfortable and has great views to Barrow and Blencathra with Skiddaw a little to the left. There is an open fire which is great for those cool autumn evenings.
The front door leads on to a small cloak room before going through to the spacious hallway via a second door keeping things warm.
The outside patio, accessed through either the kitchen/diner doors or from the utility room, is great for summer use as it is a sun trap with terrific views.
There is also a BBQ provided if you fancy it. There is a back garden that is accessed via a steep path to the side of the property and the garden itself is also on quite a steep slope. Just outside of the back garden there is an enclosure holding two pigs so if you have any scraps left over from meals then they will be greatly accepted by them. You can also access nice walking routes from here too.
Overall the property is very comfortable and well appointed. The furnishings are a little tired now but the price of the property makes up for it giving excellent value for money. There were a few light bulbs out in the kitchen and lounge. The lights over the pictures were missing bulbs which meant if you switched them on then the sockets without bulbs are live so could be a hazard.
It is hard to fault this property but one thing that I should mention is the steepness of the approach to it and the rear garden. I would suggest it is not really suited to the old or disabled as you would struggle to use a wheelchair from the door. Overall though an excellent base to enjoy the wonderful Lake District from with three pubs within easy walking distance and plenty of walks from the door. If you choose to book this you will not be disappointed but please bear in mind the steepness issue.

Good old-fashioned comfort near Keswick
Keswick was very busy late in October - not something I had expected - but we managed to find a very spacious and comfortable house a few minutes drive from the centre of Town, up on a hill with commanding views of the magnificent countryside.
While the house has a lovely old-fashioned feel, the kitchen is modern and fully equipped with everything one needs. Comms were good with excellent wifi, and there was parking off-street. The area is very quiet indeed, and there was an outside entertainment area which would prove wonderful in sumer!
There were a few small issues, such as lightbulbs not working and no replacements, but the agent urged us to report all problems promptly, which we did on leaving, so no doubt everything would have been sorted by now.
The house has four bedrooms (or more?), but since there were only two of us, we were given full reign over only the bottom floor, with two en-suite bedrooms. The only suggestion I can humbly give to the owners of this excellent home is to add brighter lights to the second bathroom.
All in all, a lovely stay in a beautiful little town, (which is an excellent base to explore the Lake District).

Perfect location to enjoy the beauty of the Lakes!
Rock Lynn is a lovely bungalow, very well appointed and perfect for two couples as there are 2 spacious double rooms (one can be a twin) - both with ensuite facilities which allows for privacy. The lounge and kitchen are both spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with useful laundry facilities and freezer in a large utility room. Outside is a huge (but steep) garden,from which the views across Skiddaw and the surrounding hills are breath taking. For those not in the mind to climb, there is patio outside the kitchen with table and chairs for alfresco dining and another set under cover in case the weather is iffy. We had a couple of lovely warm evenings with friends dining out on the patio this year. Braithwaite is close to Keswick and central for many local walks. I would recommend this bungalow to anyone and will definitely be looking to book for the 4th time next year.
