My husband and I just returned from staying here. It is a beautiful cosy cottage in the perfect location. We enjoyed trips to Buttermere and scrambled up Red Pike, visited tallest waterfall in the lakes Scale Force, had a giggle in the Puzzle place Keswick, meals and drinks in Cockermouth, BLOCKS amazing steak restaurant. Had a lovely roast at the Posting House nearby, taxi recommendations were brilliant. It was great to unwind and enjoy the fabulous bath, underfloor heating & log burner. My husband deffo earnt brownie points finding this little gem. Was nice to read the guestbook & story of how the cottage was renovated, & thank you for accommodating us with changing the date (typically booked having not been anywhere for months and tested positive the next day back in February so had to postpone our trip to March).

Excellent holiday cottage
The Granary is in an excellent location with easy access to the quieter (but still busy) western lake district and coast. The accommodation is great, very comfortable and well equipped. The underfloor heating downstairs is excellent and actually warmed the entire house (weather was mild) so we didn't get to use the modern wood burner fire unfortunately! Very comfortable bed, shower was spacious and powerful and the bath tub was ideal after a days walking.

Fabulous holiday accommodation
We absolutely loved our stay at the Granary Escape. The owner, Amanda, provided excellent instructions & as she lives next door she is keen to help if there are any problems or queries. The property looks like a high-end barn inside with beautiful decor and comfortable, quality beds, bedding & towels. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need. Just needed to buy spray oil for our cooked bbreakfast. There are lovely scenic countryside views opposite, a good pub serving nice meals just a 5 mins walk away (the old post house), Cockermouth is 8 mins drive (pop into Main Street chemist or Library for a free street parking disc). The western lakes are all quickly accessible, as are many fab walks. We can't wait to return. The only thing we'd change would be an earlier check-in time as we would like to have been able to drop our bike & belongings off before 4pm so we had time to explore Cockermouth & make the most of our first day.

Very comfortable and lovely cottage
Our stay at ‚The Granary‘ was very pleasant. The cottage offered every comfort we could wish for including an excellent bathroom with underfloor heating and a big shower and bath. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean.
Communication with Amanda was easy going and pleasant. We felt that we could ask for advice but didn’t have to as everything was well explained in the folder.
We enjoyed Cockermouth and Keswick and many more locations in the Lake District, especially in the north west corner.
The weather was better than forecasted and we left quite rested after 4 days. We were grateful to find such a nice place to stay just after the travel restrictions were lifted.
I would be happy to come back.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of the world
We stayed here at Easter. The accommodation is excellent. It has been renovated to highest standard, especially the gorgeous bathroom.
An excellent location close to the northern lakes.
We had a fabulous time and plan to return in the future.

Nice place in a nice place.
Owner very helpful and not in the least intrusive. House lovely. Nicely equipped, nothing missing that was needed. It was a bit noisy downstairs where the bedrooms are if other people are moving around upstairs in the living quarters. I doubt this would be a problem for most people. The bathroom is lovely. The kitchen is great. A couple of power sockets in the second bedroom appeared to not work but that might just me my outlaws. Generally a lovely place to stay outside the constant rush hour of the Lakes. We loved St. Bees and Whitehaven and the Solway Firth in general. Great location. Walked all day around Ennersdale which was beautiful. Nothing at all to fault with the house or the area, loved it. Could be a bit cheaper though but felt the price was fair but no bargain.

Perfect place to relax
We can not fault The Granary, beautiful accommodation in a quiet village which was the perfect place for us to spend 4 nights. We explored Loweswater, Buttermere and walked up Catbells near Keswick! Also great spot if you run or cycle, some good routes close by. Cakes and wine a lovely welcoming gift! Thanks
