Absolutely loved our time in this lovely cosy cottage. It was very clean and comfortable and all the amenities you might need. The area is breathtakingly beautiful. Just a short drive to Keswick too. 100% recommend (My parents have booked to go too!)

About the neighborhood
The village of Great Broughton is located on the river Derwent that flows from Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite lakes. The cottage is ideally located equally close to both the seaside (The Solway firth) and is in the Northern Lake District and Western fells. The village has a post office/ general store and has 3 pubs and a restaurant for bar meals at the Broughton Craggs Hotel . The beautiful lakes of Bassenthwaite, Buttermere, Crummock water, Derwentwater and Wastwater are easily accessible. Swimming and beaches are possible in the lakes and the seaside town of Allonby ( 20 minutes). The mountains of Skiddaw, Grasmoor, Haystacks and Scafell in the western fells are wonderful days out for walkers and mountaineers. The town of Cockermouth is nearby and is the home of Wordsworth house, Jennin...
How to get there
Leave Cockermouth on the A66 main road and turn right at the Great Broughton turn off. Go over Broughton bridge over the river Derwent and go up the hill bearing left the whole time. Ignore 3 right turns and as you enter Great Broughton look for the Punch Bowl Inn on the left and we are opposite one of the 4 cottages on the right. Our parking space is on the right closest to the cottage.
