About the neighborhood
The area of the Western Lakes encompasses a varied and diverse landscape. From the highest peaks and the deepest lakes, to a coastline which offers resorts such as St Bees in the South and vast wetlands around the Solway estuary where many migrating birds are found, as well as the Western end of Hadrian's Wall. Walks for all tastes are easily accessed from the apartment, and biking is a joy in this corner of the Lake District. You have the Coast to Coast bike trail nearby and Whinlatter with it's superb off road trails is a short drive away.
Getting around
A car is essential to enjoy the many sights of the Lake District. Rural bus services are few and far between, although the Honister rambler is a good option if you want to do some of the great linear walks in the area.
