- This quaint cottage is almost hidden up a leafy lane. Thick walls testify that the cottage is very old. It is compact but well laid out. The accommodation comprises front door leading straight into the living room which has a dining table under the stairs. It is open plan to the kitchen which is well fitted with oak units. There is a traditional stone hearth with an open coal fire. There is also gas central heating.
- Steep stairs lead to front bedroom with double bed, back bedroom with twin beds, and a pleasant bathroom with walk-in shower but no bath (newly renovated in November2016).
- There is an enclosed grassed yard at the back - ideal for a summer barbecue (shared with other residents from Blue Hill). Outside is the old privvy - great for storing bikes and muddy boots. There is an off road parking space.

The Blue Hill Cottage was exactly how I imagined it: perfect for our one week stay. About the neighborhood
Ambleside is central to the Lake District so most people are attracted by the proximity of the fells and lakes. But it has many other amenities not usually found in a rural location.

There is an excellent cinema, tennis courts, bowling green plus a large number of bars and restaurants ranging from budget to gourmet!

Boat trips across Lake Windermere can be taken from Waterhead Pier which is again a short stroll from the cottage.
