About the neighborhood
Walking into town from the apartment takes you through the most ancient and beautiful parts of Winchester - past Wolvesey Castle and the Cathedral, or along the old Town walls. Turning left along the river you can walk to St Cross, or up St Catherine's Hill, or join the Pilgrim Way if you're feeling really energetic! Up the hill from the apartment is St Giles Hill, lovingly cared for by a team of local residents, with pretty footpaths and great views across the city. Restaurants, bars, theatre, cinema, and music festival venues all within easy walking distance.
Getting around
The cathedral and the city centre are just a few minutes' walk away: turn right out of the front door, right again down Wharf Hill, past the Black Boy on your left. When you reach the waterways, you can either turn right and follow the river into town, coming out at the Bishop on the Bridge pub; or you can turn left and approach the centre via The Wyckham Arms, Jane Austen's house and the Cathedral
