Autumn Cottage is delightfully quaint, beautifully furnished, with a well stocked kitchen and thoughtful extras supplied in every room. Lovely cosy living room and the two bedrooms each have enormous double bed. Very clean. Painswick is lovely and a good base for touring the Cotswolds. The stairs are steep, but this was not a problem for us and my husband...

Good location for exploring Painswick and surroundings. Well stocked, Immaculate and charming cottage. Generous hamper of breakfast supplies there for us when we arrived However mattress in first floor bedroom needs replacing. Also vey steep staircase, especially to loft bedroom and no bathroom on first floor.

About the neighborhood
Painswick is an historic woollen town nestled quietly in the Cotswold Hills, surrounded by some of the most delightful countryside.Built of mellow Cotswold stone from local quarry, the village's many beautiful buildings can be seen as you wander around its quaint and narrow streets. The churchyard of St. Marys is well known for its 99 Yew trees (legend has it the 100th will not grow) and its unusual table top tombs.

The countryside around Painswick has large areas of National Trust Woodlands (140 designated footpaths criss-cross the whole area). Undulating areas of pasture land fall to the Wick stream which supplied the woollen mills.

Painswick Beacon has magnificent views across the Severn Valley and on a clear day the Welsh Mountains can be seen. There is also an 18 hole golf cours...
