These two pretty cottages (Anna & Louis) are situated on the edge of a large apple orchard, in a tranquil location approximately 1 1/2 miles (2 km) from the famous Cinque Ports town of Rye. They have just been completed to a high standard and are extremely well appointed. Peace and quiet in the Sussex countryside is the emphasis here while the beaches and historic towns are only a few minutes away. This is also beautiful walking countryside whether in woodland, by the coast, along the river Rother or the beautiful Brede valley. Rarely can one walk through orchards, vineyards and hop fields in the same afternoon! Local towns and villages of interest include Rye, Hastings, Tenterden, Bodiam (castle), Battle (1066) and Winchelsea (the smallest town in England). Both cottages (Anna & Lou... A wonderful place for a getaway from noisy city life.
We had the most relaxing mini break in this gorgeous little cottage just outside Rye. Our host went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect for us, even messaging us from Milan to make sure! Keith welcomed us on our arrival. It's not often that a property lives up to the photographs but this exceeded them. And the bed, as others have mentioned, was super comfy. The cooking facilities were more than adequate for our short break and, as an artist, the joyful colours of all the fitting and utensils etc were a treat for my eyes. I was also impressed with the inviting colour choices and styling of all the furniture and other special little touches. Rye is a stunning mediaeval town with a unique character as well as a castle, a nature reserve created from a salt marsh, lots of lovely places to eat and a total and refreshing absence of any coffee or food chains.

Perfect stay
What a lovely little 'find'c Set in a very quiet location, just a couple of miles from Rye, this cottage was just perfect for a quiet, Covid-friendly break. Raphaele was a great host, always on hand to provide advise/suggestions, but not 'in-your-face'. The accommodation was spotless and it was clear that a great deal of attention had been made to thoroughly clean the property before our arrival. The bottle of wine and chocolates left by Raphaele were very much enjoyed! The amenities available were all of good quality and having lounger chairs and a patio table/chairs meant we could relax in the sunshine outside - watching the birds, foxes and rabbits enjoy the field next to the cottage. At night it was pitch black outside, which was great for a bit of star/satellite spotting. Free wi-fi (good connection) and parking next to the cottage was most welcome too. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Yet another excellent break at Holmdale Holiday Cottages!!!
We have just returned from our forth stay in 'Anna' at Holmdale Holiday Cottages and will be booking again very soon. I describe this place as a little peice of heaven, as we just escape from it all here. The cottage is cosy and homely, and always spotlessly clean. Raphaele, the owner goes the extra ten miles to make a break extra special. The welcoming flowers in the hallway, milk and wine in the fridge and the box of chocolates on the dining table are the touches that make it even more special. We always take our dog, who has an amazing time, with the lovely local walks and wildlife. There are some lovely places to eat in Rye. A delicious Indian and Chinese also deliver to the cottage so you can have a day in with a glass of wine, and a lovely meal arrive at your door. We have stayed winter and summer and it's perfect during both, for different reasons. Take the time to enjoy the nighttime sky, free of light pollution, its amazing! It is always a pleasure to stay and we look forward to returning again soon. Thank you Raphaele for offering this 'piece of heaven'!

Perfect Getaway!
Location is quiet and off the beaten track so if its seclusion you want this is a great place. Raphaele is always there to greet you and have a welcoming chat upon arrival, she will also go out of her way to accommodate you and fix any issues that may occur. The cabin was spotless freshly cleaned upon arrival. Heating control is great so the temperature in the cabin is never uncomfortable Internet connection is good and you have the option of Wi-FI or a cabled connection for your internet-connected devices. The bedroom is spacious with ample storage space for anyone's needs and Bed are very comfortable and is like sleeping on a cloud! You have small but very stocked kitchen will all essential tools you will need to cook in the cabin and the fridge is always stocked with milk and water when you arrive. This cabin has a small private garden so you can have a picnic on the lush we kept grass in the summer a small BBQ is provided and you can fulfill all of your outdoor cooking needs. This also has a view of lush fields from the back with horses and wild rabbits running around with there Kits is very cute and calming.

Perfect getaway
We have stayed in Anna cabin in Rye many times. It is situated in a quite, beautiful picturesque area, filled with lots of greenery, rabbits and horses. The view from the french doors is beautiful and there is a seating and BBQ area which is a bonus in the summer. Raphaele, the host, is such a wonderful person! She is always so welcoming and friendly and will do whatever she can to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Both cabins, Anna and Louis, are clean and airy with a cosy feeling. They have all the essentials you would need such as a TV, fridge, WiFi and cooking facilities. The cabins location is near Jempson's supermarket which has all your essentials and more. Rye village is a 5 minute drive away with parking available. The village has confectionery shops, cafes, a cinema and lots of antique shops. Hastings is a 30 minute drive away and offers parking and a variety if stores to shop in. Camber sands is a lovely beach which takes know more than 10 minutes to drive to. I'm looking forward to staying again.

Perfect escape
Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing couple of days with you. The cottage was absolutely perfect, spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Raphaele was the perfect host and was really helpful with anything we needed or wanted to know. The private garden was lovely surrounded by fields with a small bbq, table and relaxing chairs. We will hopefully return for another visit soon.

Great little Cottage. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
Cannot fault this little cottage and Raphaele is the perfect host and is keen to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. The cottage is about a mile outside of Rye and is very secluded. You have your own private garden with a lovely view over fields which is perfect to just relax in at the end of the day. If ask would I stay again and the answer is a definite yes.

superb, well equipped cottage nr Rye
We have stayed here many times and have 2 more visits booked, the standard each time is exemplary. A wonderful welcome from Raphaele with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. The cottage is clean, well equipped and comfortable, there is nothing ever that we feel should be changed. The patio doors lead onto a lovely garden with comfortable garden furniture and a barbeque. There are always welcome gifts of wine, tea, coffee and milk, flowers and chocolates or biscuits- lovely touches. We have a family bbq in April and have booked both cottages with 4 additional guests coming for lunch, Raphaele is providing extra garden furniture and has even offered the use of her own cooker. My father lives in Peasmarsh and over the years we have stayed in every b and b and self catering accommodation in the surrounding area and this is by far the best. Rye is a fantastic place to visit with many interesting little alleyways and hidden gems, well worth a visit.
