Your stay here may coincide with the renowned Sea Food and Wine Festival in the early Autumn, or the Jack in the Green Festival in May, perhaps even the Hastings bonfire and fireworks display in November.

In the spring and summer, the East Hill offers an excellent place to picnic, whilst the 660 acres of Hastings Country Park provides wonderful scenery for long or short country walks (*an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”).

Beautiful, spacious regency house in wonderful location
We had a wonderful stay at Wellesley House. It is perfectly located in the old town and its shops, cafes and restaurants, with only a short walk to the beach.
Parking space in front is a real plus!
There are incredible sea views from three of the bedrooms and the first floor drawing room. Two of the double bedrooms are very spacious and elegant, while the other 2 at the top of the house have a cosy feel.
The kitchen is really well equipped and we enjoyed some lovely meals at the large table in the dining room.
The teens in our group loved taking over the games room/ snug on the lower ground floor!
With the garden at the front also, there are plenty of areas for a group to hang out, which made for a really relaxing holiday.
The owner and team were incredibly helpful (our daughter asked if it was ok to use the piano and the owner had it tuned before we arrived)! Then got straight back to us when we left an item at the house. Highly recommend.

Spacious with lovely views of sea and old town
Lovely spot close to the seaside and old town. Couple of the bedrooms are huge and the other two big enough. Comfy beds - some are enormous. Beautiful sitting room. Dining room is great for a group. Pretty front garden with good sitting areas. Good choice for a holiday with friends or family

Outstanding property ideally situated in Hasting Old Town
This excellent property is located within a five minute walk of the centre of the very attractive Hastings Old Town. It is therefore well located for good restaurants, interesting shops, attractive Old Town streets, the beech, the art gallery, East Hill funicular etc etc.
The house itself is enormous and spread over five floors, with four double bedrooms and two bathrooms. In addition to a sizeable living room and well-equipped kitchen there is also a basement den with further seating and bar area, TV, table football etc.
So the house could comfortably accommodate two families who also wanted some space for separate existence, or a place for older children to have some of their own space.
The owner was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants etc and was very responsive for any queries.
Hastings is lovely place and this is a brilliant base for your stay there.

A perfect weekend in Hastings
We had a Nice stay in Hastings. Everything was as expected. A Nice house in a quiet neighboring area. The FILO pub, bakery, grocery and a lot of restaurants only a few minutes walk away.
I can recommend both Hastings and this house.

Lovely period house in centre of old town
We really enjoyed our week in Wellesley House. We were two families with babies and found the property to be excellent. Very clean, very large and very nicely decorated, it was a great base for us to spend time in Hastings and the surrounding areas such as Rye, Camber Sands, Lewes and Seaford.
The only downsides are the restricted parking and the number of steps to/from and in the property. I don't think any generally fit/healthy people would have an issue with that at all, but anyone with restricted mobility might suffer. Parking for one vehicle was totally fine, and for multiple vehicles there is a huge car park just 4-5 minutes' walk away, but not ideal if a group with more than one car is travelling.
The views of the sea and over the old town from the property were lovely, there is even a tiny roof terrace at the top to maximise the vista. There are two well-stocked kitchens, each with a fridge & freezer (including one massive American-style one) and we enjoyed both the stylish lounge room and the more relaxed snug area which comes complete with massive beanbags, couches and table football.
Jon was very good at communicating throughout and we had no issues during our stay. We are thinking of coming back here again and would happily recommend it.

Lovely house, conveniently placed
Lovely house with magnificent views over Hastings Old Town. Very conveniently placed close to the seafront, Old Town shops and all the amenities if you are fit enough to climb the hills. There are many restaurants and pubs close by, catering for all tastes.
The house was spacious enough to accommodate the needs of a three generational stay such as that of my family. I particularly appreciated the quiet sitting room with its collection of books and the lovely views of the town and sea. My grandchildren loved the tv and games room in the basement, and all the family were pleased with the good wifi reception throughout the six storey house. The kitchen was well equipped as was the rest of the house, and the beds were extremely comfortable.

A wonderful stay in the most beautiful house
Our stay at Wellesley House was an absolutely wonderful experience. The house is beautiful – even nicer than it looks in the photographs – and the views over Hastings and the sea are spectacular. Everything about the house is perfect – it's clean, beautifully furnished, spacious and light, and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location in Hastings Old Town is great, too (though we could have happily spent the whole weekend in the house, as it was just so lovely). Jon was the most friendly and accommodating host, and did everything he could to make our trip easy and enjoyable.Very highly recommended.

Lovely New Year Holiday
Jon was the perfect host - very helpful and generous - leaving a bottle of bubbly for us on arrival, with which we toasted in the New Year! The house was very well equipped, spacious and perfectly situated for exploring the old town with it's funky bars, shops and restaurants. The bedrooms and bathrooms were luxurious - the 3 doubles having excellent views over the rooftops to the sea - and the basement snug, with it's enormous TV, was a particular favourite with the kids! We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this historic property for large groups and shared family holidays.
