The Lower Deck is perfect for people who want beaches and amenities within a few minutes walking distance. Castle beach and the seafront are just five minutes walk away, a few minutes further takes you to the popular Gyllingvase beach with its renowned cafe/restaurant. Alternatively, 5 minutes walk in the opposite direction takes you to the harbour with it's pretty yachts and the famous Maritime Museum, as well as the shops, restaurants, cafes and summer attractions of Events Square. The comfortable living/ dining room has a cream Laura Ashley suite, fast Wi-fi, a flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a spacious double bedroom, with fitted wardrobe. Although it forms the basement of the main house, The Lower Deck has the large windows that you would expect from a Victorian building and consequently feels light and airy inside, with lovely views of its own separate garden. It is approached through its own gate down a set of wide stone steps, with flowerbeds, lawn and a seating area.More

About the neighborhood
Falmouth is the 3rd largest natural harbour in the world and is guarded by the impressive castles of St Mawes and Pendennis, built by Henry VIII. It still has fascinating working docks, where you can often see cruise ships, naval boats or ferries, in addition to the marina areas full of smaller yachts and launches.BR> It has four lovely beaches within walking distance:- Castle beach- popular with locals and great for rockpooling Gyllyngvase Beach- attended by lifeguards for safe swimming, with a volley ball net and great cafe/restaurant. Swanpool Beach- more pebbly but with a selection of watersports available, crazy golf course and beach cafe with fantastic speciality ice creams. Maenporth Beach- a very gently shelving sandy bay where you can actually park on the edge of the sand. It also...
Getting around
Local ferries take you to Flushing, St Mawes or up to Truro stopping off at Trelissick Gardens on the way. Ocean safaris, fishing trips or a cruise along Helford Passage can also be booked at the local piers. The local train station is less than 5 minutes away with a branch line to Truro. From there you can get trains to Penzance, St Austell and many other places in Cornwall. Travel via the pretty Victorian St Erth station as an alternative way to see St Ives without the hassle of parking. Local bus services are also available, including an open top touring bus of the area in the summer.
