Interaction with guests
Ken and Veronica live in their own home a little way from the cottage. However, the cottage and the house have independent access driveways. When guests arrive the front door of the cottage will be left open for them but Veronica will walk round to greet them shortly after arrival. Assistance can be given with luggage if required. Ken and Veronica are always available for any queries during guests' stay and always pop round to make sure everything is OK during the holiday. Guests who prefer not to have any interaction can do so without causing offence

We've just returned from a 6 day stay at Longwood cottage, chosen specifically to enable me to relax and recuperate after an operation. The initial booking of the holiday, via the owner, Veronica, was pleasant and easy, but unfortunately I had to make some minor changes to our plan, due to unforeseen circumstances. Veronica was so delightful and accommodating, nothing...

Management response:

Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet you both and Maddie, who was so well behaved. You certainly packed a lot into your six days and I am so pleased that the cottage came up to your expectations. We very much hope to see you here again

The cottage is only a few miles off the motorway through small lanes and is fairly easy to get to. It backs on to the owners property with views over the countryside. At night you can sit out and watch the stars and not be disturbed by anything, only the sound of owls. The property is of good quality and...

Management response:

Thank you both for such a lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your holiday. We are so lucky to live in such a special area and are only too pleased to share it with our guests. Hope to see you again

Wow what a little hidden gem this place is! Stayed here for a week and had the most relaxing time ever, the location was perfect and the views are just stunning. It was so nice to kick back and relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is in a rural location so plenty...

Management response:

Thanks Sue, so pleased you enjoyed your holiday even though it was such an active one. Amazed how far you both went on your bikes and how much you managed to do in just one week. Hope to see you again

About the neighborhood
Sollers Hope is the smallest of the picturesque Hope villages - both Woolhope and Fownhope are nearby and have country inns which are well known for their local ales and good food. However, if you enjoy cooking, why not take a bread making course at a nearby farmhouse.
The area is known for its unspoilt countryside and is listed as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Step back in time to enjoy the peace and tranquility and at night there is so little light pollution that star watching is a favourite pastime from the cottage deck. During you stay you may be lucky enough to see the local family of fallow deer pass through the adjacent fields, and there are frequently sightings of badgers, foxes and even occasionally hares at play. A short drive from the cottage is Haugh Wood with...
