Interaction with guests
Manolis, the owner, is on site upon arrival to welcome the guests, introduce the villa to them and hand the keys. Mrs Rumy, the housekeeper, is always available to assist if a problem occurred.
Full information about the villa, the area, the food and the available events and activities are forwarded by e-mail to the guests in advance, before arrival. The most reliable maps of Crete are available in the villa and the guests are free to use them during their explorations.
Moreover, the owner provides further recommendations in person and would be happy to share with the guests the history of the house, his family and the Amari Village. The owner lives in Rethymnon city but he drops by every 2 or 3 days and the guests may contact him anytime.

We stayed 4 nights in Villa Samitos and could have spent a lifetime. The villa is in the rustic style, yet modern, luxurious and stylish with some of the finest views in all of Crete, from either of the three large terraces. Getting around
All sights are accessible on foot or by car.
In Amari Village, there are 2 little museums and the Bell Tower.
The close area has some great walks crossing the beautiful fields and the ancient olive groves. Hidden among the trees, little byzantine temples of the 13th century remain yet undiscovered. Patsos Gorge starts beside the ruins of an ancient temple and crosses a forest with waterfalls, bird watching points and picnic facilities. Potamoi Lake is a refuge and immigration station for birds, suitable for walking or cycling.Platania Gorge follows an exciting track amongst the vultures nests with spectacular views of the valley. The villa offers equal access both to the crowded north coast and the quiet south coast.
