Okura is a boutique Bed and Breakfast on Auckland's North Shore. Set on 9 acres with the River, Sea and Rural Views, close to Long Bay Regional Park and Marine Reserve. It is a 20 minute drive from Auckland City and 45 minutes drive from Auckland International Airport. Albany Mega Centre is just a short drive away with over 140 shops. Within a short drive there are several golf courses, tennis, squash courts, bowls, walks, football stadium, local airfield, beaches, cafes, restaurants, bars, Waiwera Thermal Hot Pools and theatres. This peaceful and rural setting provides a great place to stay and relax.

Deb and Don are wonderful hosts. Beautiful, quiet location; carefully maintained rooms - everything looks new. We enjoyed the small, intimate setting (only four units, but two common lounges for guest use, including one with kitchenette). Many breakfast choices, which you can access at any time until late morning. They are opening a detached two-bedroom self-catering cottage, as well, if that meets your needs. Easy drive (or ferry) into Auckland, near hiking locations. 40 minutes to Tiritiri Matangi reserve ferry or to see gannet colony, if you are a birder. We will be eager to stay there again if our travels bring us back to their area.

About the neighborhood
Okura is a coastal and rural farm land right on the edge of the residential area of Auckland City. It is a very unique and secluded niche pocket of picturesque views of the Okura River Marine Reserve and tidal estuary looking through to yacht moorings to the Whanaporoa Peninsula and Gulf Harbour Marina in the distance. There is lots of bird life to be seen and lovely walks.
